Title: My new "Old Tom" by David Miller
Post by: Mudd on August 29, 2011, 11:21:00 AM
These pictures are before I ever fired my 1st arrow so, a "virgin" "Old Tom" 66" and 52@28.

3 lamination's of hand tempered bamboo(pre-tillered before glass is added) with a Myrtle riser and brown glass back and belly.

These are the 1st arrows out of "scratches".

The 1st six and at 10 yards ans the seventh I shot at 30 yards while going to get the camera.

The 30 yard shot is on the far left of the group.

Very nice shooting! You're not planning on using that bow for the next Fun Shoot, are you? Cause if you are, we'll need to know in advance. We might need to mentally prepare ourselves.  I'd rather prepare myself for a whoopin', than be surprised by it.

Dave Miller builds an awesome longbow limb timing and tillering are his main priorit and  his attention to detai makes for one sweet shooting bow that looks as good as shoots.

Bentpole "Scratches" is a string follow Hill style tillered just the way Howard made his.

The hand tempered bamboo was tillered before any glass was added.

Sure makes for a sweet shooting bow.

God bless,Mudd

Hey Mudd -
Looks like you really have a keeper there my brother. Really like the brown glass. If you ever get the itchy trade/sell finger on this one, Just remember that it will have a home in Texas.

"Scratches" is a killer!

Here is my 1st bear with him.

That really is one sweet Miller, Mudd.  Looks a lot like the one I just got.  The brown glass is beautiful.  Love it on my Old Tom.  I like it much better than black.

Question for you, Roy.  What do you have the brace height set at on your bow?  Mine's a 64" and I have it at 6.25, but I haven't messed with it much.  Thanks.

Thanks for the kind words Mike.

I have mine at around 5 and 1/2", just guessing, could be closer to 6 but I don't think so.

God bless,Mudd

Guys, I have my Old Tom set a 6 inches just a tad over and it shoots good there. Mudd strings sliencers oh no!!! HA HA Very nice. Thanks for sharing.
Title: Re: My new "Old Tom" by David Miller
Post by: Mudd on August 30, 2011, 10:07:00 PM
I took that string off of another bow because all David sends with it is two 14 strand B50 strings.

It is a touch faster with the skinny string but the noise level didn't change and the strings he sent did not have silencers.

God bless,Mudd
