Title: Fire on The Mountain
Post by: AZStickman on August 28, 2011, 08:10:00 PM
For those of you headed out West this fall be extra careful. I just returned from my Deer hunt and when we arrived at our usual spot there was a lightning caused fire in the area that the forest service was allowing to run its course. As you can imagine there were numerous road closures and very limited camping options. Here's some video from the trip....... Terry

Thanks!
That led me to re-view the Mothers' Day camping trip. That film still strikes me, the Forces were at work, and the images resonate with the truth of what we seek. Perfect, especially the camera falling off of the ATV.

Love your videos.

Nice. Reminded me of when I fought fires. The thunderstorm?- I experienced that just this past weekend up on the high top.

We saw two different areas with smoke coming up around Young area opening weekend so we stayed a little closer to Woods Canyon. Awesome weekend but no luck with turkeys or deer. So much water - the ole ground blind near a water hole just didn't seem as good of an idea after we got up there.

Same here.

Thanks for posting this.

We had a very cool, very wet summer and there is a LOT of underbrush that has been getting cooked tinder dry by August sun and wind.

Be vewy, vewy careful out there.

Sorry for the slow response, work and a little family emergency have kept me offline the last week or so. I appreciate the kind comments and am glad I'm able to share a little bit of AZ with you all.

One of the best parts of the trip was a visit by Wingnut and his wife Connie. We have been meeting up with them for quite a few years now. Mike and I had sent e-mails back and forth and planned on meeting up in our regular camp spot. Well with the fire that spot was closed down and we were in a totally different area. Even though we didn't have phone or internet at our new spot Mike and Connie still managed to find us. We had a great afternoon getting caught up.... Terry

PS.... Good to see the appreciation for great music on here too....   :D

Ah heck Terry, you guys were easy to find now that you have that trailer.  Only so many spots you can hide that.  LOL

Just got back from Colorado, amazing thunder and lightning storms every day just about ,4 to 7 PM...lots if hail. Was in the Routt Nat'l forest and thought about fires a lot!
