When you are in your treestand do you sit more or stand more?
I do both, Just depends what's going on at the time.
I sit and shoot from a sitting possition too.Truth is, i sleep a whole lot too.One of these days i will probobly fall out, most of my stands are not real high though.Lasy year i had a mom coon and two young ones that would always come to one of my stands and climb up the ladder.I had to kick one off to keep it from getting on the top with me. Dont know what that was all about.
The bases of our tree stands aren't big enough to stand comfortably....made for sitting.
Both, depending how long I'm there, how sore my tail gets, how likely I think it is that a critter will be approaching. A typical hunt is that I get in the stand, settle in and sit for 45 mins to an hour, then stand up and get ready. Usually about 15 mins after I start seeing deer. Then again, I have four stands on my place at home and have the luxury of having their movements pretty well timed. Not so elsewhere.
I stand 90% of the time. I kinda lean against the tree with my bow hanging up at easy reach. I feel much more relaxed and at the ready.
I never stand. Its too tiring, and besides, I tend to doze off. I do tend to side a little bit sideways, making it easier to clear the stand with the bottom limb of the bow.
When younger, I used to stand quite a bit, but as I have gotten a little older, and less steady, sitting just seems to be the way to go.
Whichever, be sure to use the safety harness!
Sit unless I hear, or see something that prompts me to stand. In my tree lounge I also tend to sleep during mid day. Typically, when hunting in my lounger I take everything I need for the day and stay from dark till dark! No way I could stand the whole time but I do stand quite frequently throughout the day.
I spend a lot more time sitting now that I'm getting older, with a bad back.
I sit till I'm uncomfortable, then I'll stand for a while.
I stand during the most likely times I expect to have deer come by. I stand to get ready and to shoot. I sit about 75% of the time. I am more still when I sit.
Neither, I only hunt on the ground. Standing if still hunting and setting if I'm hunting any other time.

Mostly sit, unless I need to stand and stretch or if I see deer approaching and can stand up without getting busted. I prefer to shoot standing if at all possible.
To quote Gene Wensel "I used to stand til my feet got tired, now I sit til my butt gets tired."
In a tree I stand as much as possible, or as much as my back will allow. On the ground I sit more since it's harder to hide standing up, unfortunately.
Sitting limits my visibility and I get too cold sitting down. Sitting crushes a lot of the loft out of my clothes and the slight muscle use of standing generates enough body heat to help keep me warm.
I spend 95% of my time standing. I tried the sitting routine and just never found a seat that was comfy. I like standing because I feel much more confident about making a good shot from that position.
Also, as mentioned by someone above---don't forget that safety strap or harness of whatever it is. 50 years ago I never even thought about safety in a tree stand- Now I wonder if I can even get INTO a tree stand, so the belt is necessary for me.

I couldn't keep still enough standing, so I have to sit. I was using a natural tree stand though with a rock for a seat. Makes for a sore butt after a week of it!
I did my time standing back before portable tree stands had seats on them. I only stand now if I see a deer far enough off that I can get up without being detected.
50/50 between sitting and standing.
Made myself learn to shoot sitting from a treestand 20 years ago to cut down on movement . Now it feels awkward when i have to stand to shoot .
I stand during prime (first/last 1.5 hours of the day) time be it morning or afternoon. Otherwise I do a 50/50 split standing and sitting. Generally 30 minutes each. I also pull my bow back a time or two every hour. Movement isn't a prblem if nobodys looking!
