Saw an add for a couple of bows today, and went and checked it out. Mostly older compounds, except for this left handed Bear
Kodiak! I asked the guy how much, and he asked if $25 would be to much,I dropped my wallet twice!,On the way to my truck he runs out and hands me 10 Easton 2016's that he said goes with the bow. I feel pretty smug right now. Any help with the year made, and is that the original shelf material?--Thanks -1Longbow

That would be a 1965 Kodiak. The Rug Rest might be original but the strikeplate is not original.
Great Find.

Cool find... $25.00... as the folks on Antiques Road show say... "I would think a good pre auction estimate would be" ... you cut a big un...
Bow looks like a 1965 model. Cool find! Steve
That's a 1965. I had the opportunity to shoot a 1965 RH 46# the other day. WOW!! That's all I have to say. It was a FINE shooting bow and smooth!
CONGRATS!
What would the brace height be on this fine old bow?. I just put a new string on it from 3 Tree Strings and I gotta tell you that this a smooth shooting bow! I may hunt with this one. thanks for your help--1Longbow
Nice!
I was gonna say 64 but that was a stab.
Here is a link that can help and even help with riser woods.

To say you got your moneys worth is an understatement. I picked up a righty 63 for 50 bucks and a end cap delaminated.
Great find, want to double your money? :saywhat:
Great score! You Americans are really lucky in the second-hand old bow department.
Try 7 3/4" on the brace height. That's a good place to start on old Bears. It might go up to 8 1/4".
