if you could do any hunt where and what would you go after...im ready to try something
Moose on the MooseJohn River in Alaska is pretty hard to beat. I've done it twice, the first time with Jay Massey. Still a reasonably priced hunt IMO.
a wolf in russia or a capibara in africa from a boat.
A quality caribou, black bear, and moose hunt.
But, for the money, you can't really beat a DIY backpack elk hunt in the CO or Idaho. Less than a grand and you have a blast.
For the money, this year I'm picking a DIY elk in Co., but one day my sons and I will hunt caribou in Alaska.

I think capibara are South American.
Moose in Maine with Eldon Jandreau
ELK ELK ELK ELK
maybe I am biased
Well if your talking outfitted. Africa is a great experience for the whole family and is priced about the same as a moose hunt in Alaska.

Elk hunt in the Eagle Cap Wilderness area of NE Oregon.

I like your style!!!!!!!Kinda how I feel about it. But I would like a Moose in AK or Elk in AZ
The majestic Red Stag and resplendent Fallow deer of the celestial islands of New Zealand.
I sure love whitetails but like John said above- DIY backpack hunt for colorado elk is cheap and awesome!
being a southern boy all my life i would love to hunt the rockies maybe somewhere in Idaho or Montana just walk in and camp and hunt my way out mule deer or whitetails don't matter really don't care if i kill anything lol
A pig hunt with RC, available thru the St. Jude yearly auction.
I have yet to do anything other than DIY or a modified DIY where I'm the guest of a friend on his DIY. I'm going to have to breakdown eventually and do a guided deal though otherwise me and the moose or sheep are never going to come together.
My favorite DIY has to be white-tail deer. Better be because I do it many times every year.
Outside of that 'routine' hunt, the elk hunts I've been on have been closer to the entire package even though in three elk hunts (CO x 2 and WY 1) I've yet to draw an arrow.
I'd better get on the stick though and do a guided deal soon or the moose and I are never going to cross paths. I think that would be my ideal hunt.
For me it would be a hog and deer hunt with a couple of close friends, camping along the river for 4-5 days,if only work didn't get in the way.
Buffalo and hogs with Andy in Australia.
DIY backpack for tahr and chamios in NZ.
for the money, you cant beat a diy elk hunt!
I would choose a hog hunt down south on a limited budget. Seems there are a ton of them to shoot at and most guide services allow multiple harvests for a few hundred dollars.
For me, it's the next one I'm going on. If it wasn't affordable I wouldn't be going. If I'm broke, I'll go hunt chipmunks just for kicks. If money was no object, I'll take moose in Alaska or a family trip to Africa, but for now I will just do deer, squirrels and rabbits in Michigan and hogs down in Texas and South Carolina for this hunting season.
New Zealand Stag for me. Bucket list.
For us east of the Mississippi, it is pretty hard to beat a DIY hunt in the Rockies for mule deer or elk. I have done several and enjoyed every one.
Overlooked by many, it is also pretty easy, and relatively inexpensive, to have a wilderness adventure in Michigan's UP, northern Minnesota and just across the border in Canada. One of the best trips I have ever done was canoeing in the back country and along the northern shore of Lake Superior in Canada with my bow, a quiver full of judo points and a fishing pole in September. For the price of gas, and small game and fishing licenses it is probably the cheapest way for a mid westerner to experience a true DIY wilderness hunt.
Get a map, pick a spot out and go explore.

Mike got that right. There is no better bargain than Africa if you want to be able to see and shoot multiple game animals and be in a part of the world that is different, exciting, and (if picked properly) very wild. As a warning, some places in Africa start to seem like a Texas game farm that requires a very long plane ride to get there. Do your homework if Africa is in your plans.

That's like asking who has the prettiest wife!
It really is in the eye of the beholder. Value is a pretty relative term as well. If you have lots of money, the definition changes.
That being said, it is hard to beat whitetails around home!
Sitka blacktails or black bear in AK are pretty affordable as well.

We think alike!!! :goldtooth:
I would go antelope hunting at the Spearhead ranch in Wyoming again in heartbeat!! :goldtooth:
I guess for me it's the DIY antelope hunt in Wy next week, otherwise Africa is fabulous for the money.
Steve: I assumed when you said best hunt for the money, you meant an outfitted hunt. A DIY hunt will almost always be less expensive.
