A friend is moving to Redding, California, and wants to take up trad archery.
Can anyone recommend an trad archery shop nearby that can help him with some good advice and service?
Thanks, SveinD
Not really close to Redding, but Raptor Archery in Hood River, OR, owned by Ted Fry is a wonderful trad archery shop, really more of a combination shop and trad archery museum. Don't know if there is any shop closer than that, but even if there is, it's worth the trip to Hood River sometime.
Closer might be Wapiti Archery in Grants Pass, Oregon. A strait shot up I-5. Also Archery Past (although I'm not sure if Dave has an actual store) in Bend,Oregon. Both have web sites and E-Mail. The drive to Hood River might be a nice road trip though.

The largest trad only shoot in California, Traditional Archers of California, will be held near Petaluma California on Sept 24-25. Lots of vendors, including Dave Duran, will be there, and if your friend is here, he should plan to stop by if at all possible.
X2 for TNT shoot. And Dave is a great source of info and supplies
i think fortuna california is pretty close i dont know if they have a shop but thats where south cox of stalker bows is.
Thank you for all the good feedback!
I have sent him a list, so he can choose after his own curriculum :)

Anyone moving to Redding, California or anywhere close is one blessed being. Absolutely beautiful creation and enough room to roam in the mountains for weeks without seeing a soul. Watch out for the bears and pot growers:)
Thanks :)
