Title: Riser cut 1/8'' from center vs. 3/16 past center
Post by: mt-dew10 on August 21, 2011, 07:48:00 PM
Was curious on risers cut 1/8'' from center versus one that is cut 3/16'' past center?

Pro's?  Cons?

I have found a riser cut 3/16 past center will give you a larger variety of spines to choose from and is easier to tune.

Agree. Since my Blacktails are cut 3/16" past center; by changing point weights and adjusting the brace height, my 42# recurve can shoot the following aluminum arrows: 2114s, 2212s, 2213s, 2215s and 2117s.

my longbows and selfbows are cut 1/8-3/16" from center. They will take a lighter spine than my recurves of the same weight that are 1/8"-3/16" past center

Thanks for the info.  Has anyone found one is more accurate or forgiving than the other?
