opinion, would you rather have a 1 or 2 piece. coveralls or top and bottom???
I would go 2 piece or make the top like a 3/4 lenght coat. You will be on the knees most of the time, at least I am with a gillie on. Your legs won't catch a bounch of stuff when walking if you just do a 3/4 coat.
You could go with a long coat design, or use a camo pattern coveralls and cover the upper 3/4 and make it like a stalker style suit.
I made two piece outta BDU's.... But to be honest the pants aren't that useful... It is the boonie hat and 3/4 coat that breaks up the silhouette...
Besides... just wear brown pants (tree trunk) and the top is the foliage.... Become a bush...
It is amazing how close deer will come to you.... EVen when they see you move they don't realy recognize you as at threat, but some kinda weird bush...
Here's some pics I posted last year...

great pics slasher!! where did ya get your materials? and what do ya mean by 3/4 length, or better yet where do I find a 3/4 length coat??? thanks for your valuable insight and info, means a lot!!!!
I know Charlie Lamb hunts with a Ghillie suit. Send him a PM and ask him his thoughts.
I have a cabelas 2 piece Ghillie. Very light weight.
I have a 2 piece Bush-Rag Ghillie.
It is extremely light weight and synthetic.
I would go with the 2 piece.
As for the hood, I don't even like to wear the hood on mine as it impairs peripheral vision.
I wear a mesh hood instead.
I know a lot of these guys are partial to the Shaggie longcoat. But it is just WAYYY too hot to use in the early season, and that is the time that ghillies are most effective.
If it can be done, a 3/4 length "light weight" coat because in Texas in October, it's still.....warm.
I appreciate the info guys, thanks, keep it coming, I am in a mood of contemplation!!!
I made the poncho type
