I have a Green Mountain classic longbow and it seems to like a really short brace height. Any of you guys that have one, what is your brace height? Just curious...
I have a Green Mountain Classic,I brace mine at 6&5/8" to 6&3/4".Shoots great there for me,my Green Mountain is one of my keepers.
Do they still make these...I love to see a pic...marco
Mine is about 6 and 5/8 too. I wondered if I was the only one. It shoots great and smooth and it looks even better!
bayoulongbowman, I will post pics of mine on this thread tonight for ya

I wish he still made them, they were built by Jim Ducolos(hope I spelled him name correctly). They did a profile of him in TBM many years ago.He was in Vermont and stop buliding them many years ago.He had some of the best nocks and leather work I've seen on a bow.I custom ordered mine just before he stopped building them,an excellent bow in my opinion.I've shot some of my best 3D scores with mine.
I have a 64 inch 67 lbs @ 28 inch Green Mountain. It has tiger maple limbs with a purpleheart riser and a center strip of purple heart through the center of the limbs. Beautiful bow and shoots even better than it looks. My brace height is also 6 5/8ths. I guess I've had the bow new for some 15 or so years. A great bowyer and great bows. Too bad he packed it in.
When I got mine Jim said to do about 6 3/4" to start and see what works for you. I shoot mine now at 7 1/8". Seems to be good for me!!
Picked a Classic up about 3 years ago. 6 3/4" seems to work pretty goog. Bamboo with a Bocoto riser, at least that is what the riser looks like.
I forgot to add, I had Jim build me this bow in 1996, still got it and was just shooting it the other day.....good stuff!
I actually just double checked my notes and my notes have the Green Mtn longbow at 7" for a brace height. You know you have too many bows when you need notes to keep everything in order....
I believe it was 6 3/4" to 7 1/4". That was just a starting point as you can go lower or higher, what ever works best for you.
I have a Stringray and mine is at 7"
