Check out any restrictions on their website. Depending on wildfire danger level sometimes there are restrictions on what roads you can travel on with vehicles. Probably can't have a campfire of course. I'd check their website.

There is probably a Forrest Service office located somewhere close to where you're going, and it wouldn't hurt to pay them a visit on your way in.  They will fill you in on any requirements/restrictions, and may even give you some helpful hints on hunting in the area.

Yup, possible fire bans, although there have been some recent rains. Other than that I've never had a problem. Make sure you stay on marked forest service roads while driving. Good luck and enjoy Colorado, it's a beautiful place to hunt!

I'm pretty sure there is a time frame on how long you can camp in the same spot(I want to say 14days) but I have been fooled before.

I usually try to leave it better than I found it. And if you travel into "Wilderness Areas", leave no trace.

Thanks guys....I have been in contact with the local Forest Service office in Walden, Colorado in regard to road closures and got good info. I have the phone # in case I need to contact them. Just wanted to make sure all my ducks are in a row!!

We just about got a ticket last year for camping to close to a creek. You might check but I think you have to be 100 feet(maybe yards) from a water source. We camped by a realy small creek, I mean bearly running and they about gave us a ticket but since we were packing up to leave they let us go.

21 days and they boot you out.
Best deal going, though.

Get into the areas where there is no vehicle traffic allowed...the further you go into these areas the better the hunting is.  Pray for cool weather too!  I'll be in Gould, just East of Walden in the CO National Forest unit 6  9/10 to 9/18 with a few other Trad Gangers. Good luck!
