Title: 150gr VPA
Post by: Bow Bum on August 18, 2011, 09:31:00 PM
Anyone use the 150gr VPA terminator. I like the concept of a BH without vents, but my set-up (45Lb K-hunter drawn 29.25) likes a 150gr front end.

The 150 seems a little stubby. Any concerns?

Thanks in advance!

Brian

I think 1250 was a typo....

But...if its 150....cool...but what are you planning on shooting???

LOL I'd like to see that set up!

My current set up shoots real nice with 150gr tips.

In my neck of the woods its deer and turkey exclusively.

Thanks,

Brian

Im using 175 gr VPAs on AD Hammer Heads out of a #52 Black widow.  ADs tolerate alot of different head weight and varying shaft length you should be able to get a 150 flying out of an AD or AD light.  Just a thought.

I like the longer heads, more 3:1 length to width.

just my .02

I think they will work fine. If you are worried about length give the woodsman elite a go. They are made by VPA and the heavier weights are the same heads. VPA just makes a longer but vented broadhead in the 150 grain for 3rivers.

I have some 125gr glue-on woodsmens that come in at 150-ish with adapters. But was considering the extra penetration potential with a solid blade design. The woodsmens in my weight class are vented.

Probably splitting hairs between the two.

Do a search on the VPA and the Woodsman heads alot of info has been reported on both.

I don't see a problem with those two animals....especially with a 29.25 inch draw.
