had a great day roaming the mountain with my good buddy Charlie (CylicRiver) and my new Northen Mist Shelton. Charlie had quite a find right in the begining, never let it be said he don't have a pot to pee in!!! this was just a "staged" pic, nothing was pee'd upon in this pic.

Nice pics Ken. What bow is that Black one? That's a Deadly looking bow right there!
that is "Ravenous", i'll let Charlie field this one.
I can help on that Black bow.......That is one of the nicest shooting longbow I ever shot.....Big River 68" long with a Phenolic riser....it's a sweetheart!
Did you break in your hat?
Thanks for the pictures!
God bless,Mudd
Best part is, IT'S MINE! :bigsmyl:
seriously, It's a Big River Long Bow Made in WI. I bought it used off a fellow TG'er who lives in Western NY. I already had a Big River which I LOVE!!! and wanted another with similar specs in case I ever had a fatality.
I thought I would hate this bow before I bought it, but my gut was telling me otherwise. Don't tell my other bows on the rack but it's currently my favorite. as Ron said, It's a sweetheart!
Nice pics, thanks for posting.
Hey Ken, nice pics. But after seeing your Bowie, I think that bear might have to put a purty good fight to win that match, lol. Mike

Ken, if I could spend an hour with you I think I could help your shooting. I can see many things I would suggest you change in your shooting form. You have good potential but you just need someone to critique your style.. :archer2:

An hour? How about a weekend? That way all of us yankees can enjoy some coaching, stumping, camp fire stories, Mama's cooking, etc. Plus, Ken really needs the help, but me more so. Come on Ron, you know you want too... :bigsmyl:
Nice photos. I really enjoyed seeing them. Thanks for sharing.
I love this thread....pictures help us share in the joy.
Oh man I love that mountain!!
Any word on a second AA?
Nathan
My bad, I guess we're past a second AA by now. Boy don't the years go by! By the way, BEAUTIFUL bows!!!
Nathan
I hope to hit that mountain with you fellas again this year. Last year it was a good start to the season. Lets just keep Charlies pot behind the bushes this time.
Awesome pics ....thanks for sharing !! :campfire:
Ok boys, if Ron is putting on free weekend clinic I will host:)
I'm with Izzy on hitting the mountain early in the season like last year. If Izzy is with us, we can count on meat in the pot.
Great pictures. If your day job doesn't work out, you could make it as a photographer.
Ken, here's a couple pictures someone took about a week ago at a shoot. First picture is at full draw, solid anchor at corner of the mouth, bow arm slightly bent.

Follow through after release, "both hands do nothing".

So Ken is sharing with you all how I manage to shoot any stumps at all.
I move up to 3 inches from them before I shoot. (I am practicing becoming a better hunter and the 3 inch shots ;) )
Izzy, I know where a pot is you can cook a squirrel in :readit:
Nice pictures and great looking bows! It's hard to beat an afternoon out in the woods.
-Jay
made some more friends along the way. ALLMOST had this one smack me in my ugly mug before Charlie warned me!

Izzy made meat last year on the mountain, look forward to hunting with you again!

Hey Ken do you have the MOBB with Ron? If not let me know I'll ship it up to ya. Joe
Ravenous picked up a hitch hiker, guess that little guy didn't know the danger he was in!
That is the kind of newt that is most prevalent where I hunt. Your mountain looks like home, Kenny.
Awesome to have Ron offer you some tips.
I'd bake him some cobbler if I were you!
Killdeer
i'm thinking i could kill him a gobbler before i could make him some cobbler! :bigsmyl:
Ken, I can make a mean Cobbler over the fire if your mom can only find me a good cast iron Dutch oven. (the ones with Legs).
You wont be sorry!
Ken - great photos of you and Charlie. I'm going to have to come up sometime soon. The mountains are calling.
Great looking birds eye on that bow by the way!
Charlie - I think we can find you a big ole dutch oven with legs. Give me some time to look around. Of course, then you will be obligated to demonstrate that cobbler-making skill! I just brought back a ton of blueberries picked in Maine, but I think my wife is planning on a big blueberry pie for that harvest!
Glad to see you guys had a good time on the mountain!
:campfire:
Tony,
One of my favorite Cobblers is Blueberry with Strawberry cake mix.
I've had my eye out for a good Dutch oven but the cheapo in me is waiting for a deal. I know one will come along at some point. Dutch ovens are the best for campfire cooking.
Nice pics, thanks for sharing. It is a great thing to enjoy the woods with good friends and bows in the hands.
Oh Ill be there Ken, Ill be there. Theres a big ol mountain gobbler with a bullseye on him just waiting to get roasted over an open fire. Keep your Pot Charlie, you guys can use it for your porcupline stew (as soon as I leave).
AWESOME Pictures My Brother!!!!!!!!!!
I love the picture of "Woodchucker's Rock", sure brings back some cherished memories!!! I hope to be hunting next to it again soon!!!!! (If I could even FIND it again..... Lord knows it's been awhile!!!)
Thank You Brother!!!!!
Chuck!! Hope to hunt with you again soon buddy! I'll bring up some more steamers again for those of us who like snotty look'n food that tastes great! :readit:
Nathan
Thanks for taking the time to post brother...
Longbows were made to walk the woods.
ak.
Outstanding pics . Do I need to bring ya`ll some snakes up there. They do add a touch of excitement . I hunt very few places with bears and think that is cool as well. Good luck hunting,RC.
RC, you keep them snakey critters right where they are....... :biglaugh:
