This is a link to a good video on a selfbow hunt in a ghillie. Nice editing on it too.

My goal archery wise is to build and successfully hunt with a selfbow. I don't know if I'll ever pull it off. I'm a good shot with a recurve, but I just don't have what it takes to shoot a longbow. I suck at it. Throw a selfbow in there and I think I'd shoot myself in the back. We will see.....good link buckeye.
That ghillie suit served him well.
It's not a selfbow. It's a boo backed bow!
Cool video none the less.
the fella has got som skill to stalk a deer and let the doe get to within 10 yrds of him before the shot. ive been that close and blew it. props to him for even bein able to video itand have a successful recovery. a trophy for sure. rv
Awesome video
Enjoyed that video. Love the ghillie suit. Looked really good.
Oops on the composit bow! He did a nice job though!
Reckon that was a homemade ghillie suit?
Cool video. But I am really curious how he just happened upon these deer, and had all the camera set up, multiple angles, etc.
I'm with you Sam. Even with a lot of professionally produced hunting shows, footage of the archer taking the shot is 'recreated' after successful footage of taking the game is filmed. However, in this case the footage of the deer and squirrels browsing back and forth in that one area doesn't begin to jive with his stalking; he was moving A LOT, even just before the shot. My speculation is that the reality of that hunt was far different than what he attempted to portray.
Yeah. I don't buy it for a second. IF he had video from perhaps behind himself taking the shot, that would be more believable.
More than likely I believe that he had a camera set in an area where deer were browsing (possibly on something that HE put there, like corn).
He took a deer there, and the camera was rolling when it happened.
THEN, he went back and at a different time, or perhaps even later that day, and filmed the walking up with the ghillie, etc.
There is just no way that he would have the camera angles so perfect, and set up, etc...
If you note the comments on the you tube video; he answers almost every question given to him. However, he avoid answering the user that asks him HOW he got the cameras set up.
