ok its waaaaaaay past due! how many of ya would love to buy/read a book about Ron Leclairs great adventures??? i know i sure would. i KNOW he has so much to share and it would be a shame not to be able to pass down his hunts, stories, poems and rambilings through a book. so what do ya say lets put some pressure on the ole mountan man!!!!
I will order one for sure.
I'm on board and would definitely buy one. He is a living legend and has a lot of knowledge and insight to share about archery and bowhunting.
I sure would.
That is a greal idea, book of everything from history, shooting tips, storytelling and of course....poetry. Come on Ron, you have to do it.
Me too.
We have done this before, but I am all for continuing to harass Ron until he actually gets the book done. :) We need to have his life in print with pictures. Certainly I would be among the first to place an order.
Allan
I could be wrong, but I thought that I heard a few years back that Ron was putting some notes together for a book already.
Yes and YES!
I'd love to have a signed book from Ron Laclair for sure!!!
I'd be careful applying pressure on him, he is a big man! :bigsmyl:

Ron who.......... :dunno:
Some guy who lost his bow :)

That would be a great book. He should publish a photo album, too. He has some really awesome pics.
him writing a book would be nice, but i would love to see him put a good hunting video together of him hunting deer, wild boar, elk, etc. just my personal thoughts.
jim
I'm in line for the book. Plenty of hunt stories.

Hahaha...
Ken,
I don't know the man personally but have seen his You Tube clips and read some of his posts. It would be a pity if he did not put his thoughts, experiences and philosophy towards life and hunting down on paper.
Dodger
I would like to hear from Ron. Ron, do you have stories to tell about...Howard Hill...I don't know who?
A DVD/Book combo would be the "piza deresistants" (mountainman french).
I'd scrape up the moola for a set.
God bless,Mudd
There is a Man we know so well,
He could scare you with his stare,
A Gentle Giant,Archer superb,
Hes known as Ronnie LaClair,
His Shrews are legend,
They shoot so true,
They can be had by one and All,
Our legend Ron at 75,
Still shoots and rides so tall.
He can Spin you Yarns and Poetry Too,
He'll dazzle you with his Look,
Just wish for once he'd spend the time,
And write us all his Book !
Dedicated To an Old Mountain Man from one slightly Younger! LOL

I would buy A book written by Ron!!
Ron's life in archery.....the tournaments, the hunts, the people, the business....it took him all these years to live it.....and would be a book most of us would read and reread for years to come.
What say you Ron?
Yes, I would have to agree that Ron needs to write a book. Would be a great resource for shooting, his personal journey through traditional bows and resurgance, his hunting stories and endevours as well as the quality people he touched and got touched by.
I want a signed copy.....I'm sure it's some Howard Hill-stuff inside... :o ) Go on Ron!
ok i'm ready :bigsmyl:
Comon Ron...you could even speak the book into a recording and get someone to type it maybe...
The Mountain man Ron is on his way to a shoot right now
F-Manny
I would buy the book. No doubt about it. There is alot to learn from his insights of archery.
75yrs old is that that old already ? He hasent aged since i last saw him ten years or so at denton hill.
I would be all in if he wrote it
I'd like a copy of his book. Ron is a living legend.
looks like i'm not alone ehh????
I would like to see a hunting /shooting video from Ron myself and definately would order one .
Great idea

My wife has tons of experience in publishing and I have extensive experience as an editor. We have many friends and contacts in the publishing business in NYC and NYS. I could also transcribe anything from a recording. Any services we could provide would absolutely be free of charge.
BTW Ron - it was good getting to spend some time with you at Denton the other week. It was even better to get to spend some time without a hoard of other folks around. You DO have some great stories to share.
Seriously! I'd buy it for sure!
Put me on the list I would buy, Ron has paid his dues and is the real deal and gentleman to boot.
I would buy one.
the pressure is on I would read it for sure
I would buy it in a heartbeat
Add me to the list...
I think that the first 10 people who replied that they would order, should get them autographed! :D I have my checkbook ready, just waiting on where to send the money.
Yep, we just gotta have a book Ron!!
lets throw another log on the fire! :campfire:
I would love to hear the stories from Ron. Come on Ron, Your an inspiring guy with a WEALTH of knowledge! Would love to curl up on the couch with a roaring fire in the fireplace and get lost in your stories!
Ron could probably write 3 different books, one on how to and tackle, two on his life/journey, and three bowhunting stories and expericances. All three would be collectors items.
I agree about the three books.
I don't believe that you can talk somebody into writing a book, though. A person has to feel ready, has to feel impelled to get their story out, and has to have the energy and doggedness to do all that writing. Then there is figuring out the publishing thing.
Lotta work, as opposed to just living one's own wonderful life, and/or reading about what other folks have done.
Killdeer
Killy,
i %100 agree but i have a.d.d AND i'm impatient/high strung!!!! i got one gear baby GO GO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! believe it or not i'm much better now then my youth... :readit: :knothead:

Thats a book i would read! TD.
I sure would add a copy to my personal library.
I just got back home from the GLLI and I'm tired.. :( ...after reading this thread, I'm even tired'er.. :readit: I realize that I'd better make it more of a priority or it'll never get done. Thank you everyone the encouragement and the push.. ..I'll try harder to make it happen.
Killdeer you are a wise Lady.. :notworthy:
C'mon Ron...write about your adventures as we all would support you wholeheartedly!
Kenny :readit:
He'll get it done in his own time, can't rush a lifetime of accomplishments.
WOW that is AWESOME didn't realize ya had auctually started putting pen to paper WAY to go!!!
Ron, your book may just outsell the bible...LOL The good thing from a marketing standpoint is you probably can count on having at least 30,000 sold just to TG's members. A good chance after reading it buckskins and beards will be back in style for trad hunters.cant wait. The legacy of Ron LaCair
"Ron, your book may just outsell the bible...LOL "
Considering Ron was around when the authors of the Bible were doing their writings..... :scared: ;)
Hey, as a side note, you've got to include a chapter on knives. I just got my B-day present last night from you (a LaClair neck knife) and it's a dandy. Thank you good buddy. You were missed at the surprise party (how my wife kept a secret that 85 people showed up is beyond me-makes me nervous), but we were chatting about you and the camp pictures that my wife had enlarged and around the room to celebrate my 50 years. Two of the 6 pictures were from Shrewhaven, so that calculates into 1/3 of my best life memories came from there---that seems about right.
count me in
I hope you had a happy birthday buddy. I knew about the surprise party, I got an invitation but we had already made plans to camp at the GLLI. Happy 50th OLD Man.. :clapper:
I have wanted to meet Ron for a while now, but if I don't get to listen to his stories, I sure would like to read them.
i have emailed Ron on and off and just want him to know how important i think his words and stories are to MANY people. i often hear echos of the past and have a feeling in the woods like i belong. its people like Ron and his writtings that i know i am not alone, that there are many throw backs to the old ways. i know others hear the echo's but becouse things have changed so much everything is muffled and the link to the old days seems broken. Ron breathes new life in to the old ways with his stories, shooting and writting. it is this that i hope is never lost. one day he will be remembered for MANY things he has accomplished but what i hope never gets lost over time is all the people he inspired. after reading his Ghost of Armstrong Creek i sat down and wrote one about my favorite mountain, royal Mountain. Ron is a great man with much to share and much yet to still do!

There is no doubt in my mind I would order it, hardcover and autographed please!!! :clapper:

Killdeer
Wow!
Well written brother Ken!
Dont be a party pooper Killy. :D On second thought....I dont think a beard would work for you.
Bill
I'll for sure buy a copy, even if it's a pricey first edition hardback! Clint

I would buy 2 or 3. Good poem ken.
Ken,
I see you also have the knack for prose. If you decide to have your poem enlarged I would like a copy. Please autograph it also.
