Hello everybody!!!!
I just wanted to introduce myself-- lots of forums nowadays would like you to do that, but I couldn't find anything here. Hopefully I didn't overlook it!!!
My name is Matt Jablonski, and yes, I am definitely new to the trad archery family. I served in the U.S. Army for almost 10 years as an Airborne Ranger and I either did things from a considerably longer distance, or really really close, if you know what I mean. A friend has gotten me interested in the traditional archery family-- from what I understand it's pretty big.
I have hunted for 25 years, and been an outdoorsman for the same. I'm anxious to get involved in the family that I have seen so many pictures of-- I really enjoy seeing the people having so much fun.
My first stick bow will be a horse bow custom made by Captain America-- I hope he doesn't mind me using his name-- but if you ever get to see his work, he is a true craftsman.
I am truly looking forward to meeting so many of you, and I hope that I can have half as much passion as so many of you do!!
Thanks so much--
Matt Jablonski

RLTW!!!
Welcome to the TradGang Family Matt. You're gonna have a great time with Trad and with this site. Lots of great people in here and TONS of information on just about everything Trad. There's some celebs in here too, so don't be shy and read and post away, and again welcome.
Hi there-Hap
Welcome and God bless you sir!
Steve
There was an Indian youth who had great strength, extreme speed, stealth, honed hunting skills and was quite cunning. His youth, high spirit and unmatched skills along with his extreme attitude spurred on his assumption of entitlement to be chief.
One day he challenged the elder chief and directly confronted him. The youth boldly proclaimed that he did not see nor hear the spirits which the chief so often spoke of. The chief asked him to walk to the stream with him. The chief asked the bold youth to get down on his knees and to gaze into the water. The youth arrogantly obliged him.
As the youth closely gazed into the water, the chief grabbed him by the neck, thrust his head under water and held him there while the youth fought wildly and was let up just prior to losing consciousness.
The surprised, scared and gasping-for-air-youth immediately cried out, 'Why did you try to kill me'?
The wise chief responded, 'Until you seek the spirits with the same vigor as you struggled for that breath of life, you shall not find them."
To reap the greatest gifts of the Trad Gang family, search for your place, listen and let your voice be heard.
Welcome, my friend.
Tough to respond to that one...sounds alot like things I have experienced, and I understand the message.
I'm glad to be a part!!!
Matt
Welcome aboard.
Matt I understand your point of "long distance". I spent many years with the Army's Marksmanship Training Unit on the Reserve side. There is not really a challenge for me to hunt "long distance", but to call a bull elk into 15yds on the ground and have nothing but your bow and you, now that is a challange and gratifying. Glad to have you on board.
Ah yes, I know as well. I enjoy the hunt-- to call something in close. Now I have to call it in.... CLOSER. Thank you!
Jump in its a load of fun,,,,Sam,,,,,
Thanks one more time for your service Matt!
As others have said, jump on in, this is a friendly and a safe place. There are lots of things to learn here, good teachers, and many ways to spend your money and your time.
Welcome!!
Welcome Matt.
Son just returned from Iraq so believe me when I say thank you for your service. My best friend is looking at horse bows in Olympia,Wa. I know little about them and wish you luck with your horse bow.
I'm hoping to get my bow from my friend this week sometime, likewise hoping to make it to Wilmington. It'll be my first trad shoot, so I will be the odd man out, and I hope I don't make a fool of myself.
Matt just have fun, thats all that matters.
Welcome to you !
Welcome from Kentucky
Echo the Thanks!

Matt:
A Couple of things; Welcom to the fire. You will find a wealth of knowledge here, so don't be afraid to ask (that sounds kinda strange going out to an Army Ranger, doesn't it...). Secondly, as a former Viet Nam Vet,"Thank YOU" for your valued service to this Great Country.
I wish you great success with your new hobby. Just start saving your money because this is a true addiction and gets more expensive with time.
:biglaugh:
Welcome from Massachusetts, and thanks of course.
As was just said, start saving! Lots of bows to try, loads of fun. :campfire:
Welcome aboard,Enjoy the journey. :campfire:

Welcome aboard. If there is anything you need, let me know. I can't wait for my brother to retire (Lt Col) in 2 years so we can spend more time together.
Welcome to family. This is the place to be. Lots of info and some of the best people on the planet. Thanks for your sacrifice.
RANGER2D:
Is it possible, that I too, am a fool?
The deer worries not and knows where his next meal resides.
The turkey pours his heart out in full display for the world to behold.
The bear knows his place in the dead of winter of the most very cold and desolate regions.
The elk bugles, as resounding trumpets from the sky and fears not who hears.
Quite possibly I am a fool; however for sure, if I fail to persevere in experiencing the wonderful possibilities that lie ahead. For we all stumbled before we walked; and we all stumbled again before we walked with men.
Focus on enjoying yourself and breathe in the experience and remain forever aware that the air is rich.
All the best on your journey!
Welcome Matt, and Thanks for your service!
