Wondering if anyone has any impressions of the VPA Penetrators to pass along yet?
Stoutstuff
I've shot one, the big 300 grain at the bottom of the photo, and they fly great just like my 300 grain Terminators. Two words come to mind when describing the new heads: "ROCK SOLID"! I sharpened a half dozen up last night using a KME broadhead sharpener and need to report that my forearm is currently hairless.

Gary,
Looked at the VAP site and didn't see the Terminator heads.

I have to say I'm not liking how blunt the tips are on these heads. Just my opinion and no I have not seen nor shot them.
They tuned right with my terminators. May get a chance to try it out on some hogs Monday.
Troy, on this page http://www.vparchery.com/products.php
Needle point tips are prone to curling.
mikebiz,
The points aren't really that blunt. They want most refur to as a tanto point. They come to a point on all four sides.
Troy
Katman,
I must be missing something. Still can't find the two blades...

The Penetrators are not on the web-site at this time. Do a search and you will get more info.
Do they come in single bevel yet?
Don't be misled by the appearance of the heavyweight tanto tip. The wider design simply performed better in testing than narrower versions. A few weeks ago I did a test of the 250 gr. 2 blade where I shot the same head repeatedly through beef and hog legs, ribs, shoulder blades, etc. A 600 grain arrows split the bones and then pushed into a dense foam broadhead target an average of 16 additional inches. There was no curling or bending or any kind and the head spun true afterwards. The wider tip can be sharpened further if preferred, however it's not a necessity. With no welds or brazing, there is nothng to separate on impact. I'm going to shoot the longer 300 out of my recurve. The 200, 250, and 300s would seem to be the best choices for shooting out of tradtional bows. The shorter versions, with greater blade angles, are more suited for high energy delivery from compound bows. That's just my opinion.
rayzor-vpa.com will get you to a website.

here you go Troy
Troy, you asked about the terminators(3 blade), penetrators are the two blade
I pre-purchased a dozen of the 300 grain models to go along with the 250's I previously bought. Any idea when the 300's will be shipped? I am not initially concerned about the tip not being pointed enough. My ABS Ashby heads have chisel points, and some of my heads in the past have also had chisel points and done a very good job of penetrating. There is some advantage to having a head move slightly to go around a bone as opposed to trying to penetrate it when it is too thick. Not many animals have ribs that protect them well from heavy arrows and sturdy cut on contact broadheads, but with those that do, I need all the penetration ability I can get. The Penetrators appear to be the right prescription.

I did order some of the 250's and 300's and intend to use them but in a somewhat altered state.
Katman,
Didn't catch the difference in the names until a few other post were made.
Troy
I ordered the 250's cuz I was afraid I wouldn't have the 300's in time. Next week I'm headed for RSA to try and poke a couple holes in a zebra and gemsbok. Hopefully I'll be able to give the first review on performance on Plains Game Flesh and bone. (hopefully not too much bone). I can determine not flight difference in between the 250 penetrators, 250 terminators or my 250 field points. Very impressed with both the VPA offerings.
I'd like to order some 200's.
All sizes should be shipped sometime next week.
Thanks,
Jeff
Again, does anyone know if single bevels will be offered? I don't see any on the web sites.
Thanks.
Just ordered some 200's and used tradgang at checkout for free shipping.
The 300s, along with the second run of the other weights are back from the coaters. They only need to be sharpened. Hopefully they will be ready for shipping by late in the week. I still have a very few packs 175s and 200s left from the first run. I have a ton of backorders which will filled in the order received.
Forgot to mention that I just sent Gary's pic and a brief description to our website guy to add to our products tab.
Also, there won't be a single bevel this year. Too late in the year to get them out before hunting season and we definitely don't want to tie up the money and carry the inventory until next year. We'll gladly custom manufacture broadheads for anyone wanting to buy 100 packs though.
rayzor150 keep the 300 and 250 single bevels on the wishlist please...I will wait.
If anyone wants to sponsor me to hunt enough game to use 100packs I am all ears!!!
