I got my hands on a few of the new VPA 300 gr. "Penetrators" today, complete with a Teflon coating and factory beveling. They look like brutes. A little work with a KME sharpener and I'll be good to go.

That appears to be one seriously deadly BH !
For real! very nice
I hope to get the dozen broadheads soon that I preordered. They look great.
Allan
I also ordered some and intend to try them as soon as they arrive-- after I sharpen the point, lol..
can't wait to get mine, will try them on a big ol West Texas hog
Can't wait to get some myself!
Which sponsors sell these?
One serious broadhead, what are the dimensions?
Ben, Big Jim at www.bigjimsbowcompany.com (http://www.bigjimsbowcompany.com) sells them as well as Ray at www.rayzor-vpa.com (http://www.rayzor-vpa.com) and Kustom King at www.KustomKingArchery.com (http://www.kustomkingarchery.com) Might be more sponsors, but those are the ones off the top of my head. Here is our dealer page...

Found dimensions on there site. Interesting vpa puts 3.1" overall length on there site while MA is 2.2:
"Fully machined in one piece from tool grade steel. Heat Treated to 50 rockwell, Teflon coated. Beveled tanto style tip. 1 1/8" cutting diameter. 2.44" Longth from base to tip, 3.1" overall. Double bevel sharpened"
Love there three blades and this looks mighty nice.
Been waiting for these, can not wait too use them in the field.
That is one nice looking broadhead. Any plans on them making the two blade in a glue on version...say 125gr.-160gr.?
Jason, yes we are planning on a 2 blade glue on. Should be yet this spring. Stay tuned!
A glue-on is in the works, talked to them at Kzoo. They didnt specify a weight range.
Eric
Thank you!
Is there a wider version in the works? Say 1 1/2"?

Not currently, but that's something we might look into. Right now we're just focusing on trying to get the glue on 2 blades out and available.
The heavy heads look great when I saw them at the Kzoo expo. Wish the 200 was a hair longer. 1 1/2" and single bevel would be great addtions down the line.

We'll do...thanks!
I don't want to steal this post our anything, because I'm new to trad shooting and I'm really interested in these broadheads, but isn't it better (according to Dr Asbell) to have a single bevel broadhead than a double?
"Dr Asbell"???

Thats what i need. 200 to 250 would be great.
Come on Gary give the guy a break, he said he was new to trad, you were too once. Shane C. The name you are refering to is Dr. Ashby, and yes that is his oponion. If you stick around this group much you will find that just about everyone of us has an oponion on just about everything from equipment to style of shooting and anything in between. That said alot of Bowhunters have been shooting double bevel broadheads from the very beginning and do not want to switch. These heads will kill anything big enough to die, always have always will. Since your new, I'll give you something to think about, any well made, cut on contact, razor sharp,2 blade, 3 blade, 4 blade, single bevel,or double bevel will kill an animal everytime, if placed in the heart and lung area. It's were you place the shot, not what head you use. Of course that's just my oponion. RW
Sorry, I knew it was Dr. As... I couldn't remember the rest. I will try to remember the rest as he seems to be a god on here. :) I really like the look of this broadhead, but after shooting 300gr field points out of my new bow I'm pretty sure it's too heavy for my set up
What do ya mean Roy? G. Fred's been away from home quite a bit the last year or so . . . thought that maybe he had been working on a PHD in instinctive bow shooting. :^)
Gary: You could be right, never considered that. Shane, those bad boys arent for everyone or every set up, that's why we have such a selection. Haven't shot any of these yet, but I love the Terminators, my go to head on most everything. RW
1.5 incher would be real nice. I know that this one will kill anything walking but the way that i shoot, that little extra width sure does put me at ease on my marginal hits.
Tradgang's always been(at least from my perspective)a place where new guys can join we oldsters around the campfire with clear expectations that information will be freely exchanged and encouragement given . . . although - much like a real hunting camp, new guys are sometimes subjected to a little good natured kidding as well. Welcome to our campfire Shane!
Snipe hunt at eight o'clock!
Killdeer
i'm in
Prefer 1 3/4 but 1 1/2 will do. I will be in if they make them.
I'd be in for the 1 1/2" wide (1 3/4" would even be better!)... might even get me to sell my stockpile of Magnus 1's and Zwickey Delta 4-blades... 250 grains would be perfect, but 300 grains would work too... I'll keep looking and hoping...
