Does anyone own an Appalachian Archery Seneca recurve bow? I can't seem to thing any information or pictures on them. Are they decent bow in terms of quality and performance? Any information would be appreciated!
Yes, i own one, it was my first used custom bow i ever bought back in the 80's. Dave Guthrie out of West VA was the builder and he has since stopped building bows. In the beginning i think his partners name was Tom White ? he went off and started building bows on his own under the company named ????, darn, cant remember right now.
I love my Seneca, if you have a chance to buy one snatch it up.
I also own a matching longbow. I really should hunt them again this year. I am not at home currently or would post some pics.
Good Luck
I have been intrigued by them because he named them after places near to my heart. Snowy Mountain, Middle Mountain, etc. The bows are said to be excellent, and they would have a little extra magic in them, to me.
Killdeer
Tom White's business was called Blue Ridge Archery.
Thats it David. Thanks, seems CRS is setting in these days.
Both of those bowyers use to be my favorite.
I attended Dave's bowyery tutorial back in 1993. Learned a lot, and Dave is a good guy and good bows.
Had an Elk mountain recurve, great bow, wish he was still making bows.
Love Guthrie's bows. First trad kill was with a cocobolo Savage River takedown. Quietest bows I've ever shot.
I appreciate all the information. I just received some pictures of the bow so now need to make a decision.
If you can find a Seneca buy it they are good bows. I shot a Savage river take down for years . Then sold it on E@## for more than I paid for it. Yes it was a quite recurve !
Killy I loved they were named after places close to my heart .
