Hello there, I have an unforeseen medical visit I have to pay to family, and it seems I'll have to be there a while. My longbow won't fit on a plane with all my luggage.
I contacted Thunderstick, Big Jim, Northern Mist and they all have long waiting lists.
I was wondering if you now of a mild D/R longbow builder who builds 2-pieces and has a shortish waiting list. Can't quite afford a Widow, thanks.
Or if you have a lefty 2-piece around 45-50#, 64-68" long, let me know. Thanks!
sorry to here about your unforseen medical issues. i hope everything is ok. just a thought but you could ship your longbow to where you are headed to either be there when you get there or arrive shortly after you. god bless
You should definitely contact Nate Steele at BamaBows. I'm pretty sure his wait list is fairly short. It was about 5-6 weeks when I ordered my longbow back in March I think. I have read great things about his R/D longbow. It's called the Expedition. I'm pretty sure he'll build it as a 2-piece take down on request. Check it out or give him a call. He's a class act.

Oh I see that you were looking for a 64-68" bow. The expedition mentioned above is only 58". Sorry about that. And I really like the shipping idea that igiveup suggested. Good luck and I hope things turn for the better for you and the family.
Try posting a WTB in the bow classifieds. I'm sure someone can help you out.
Mikebiz has a good suggestion about Nate at BamaBows. His straight-limbed 2pc bows are sweet. I prefer them over my R/D bows.
Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear has an awesome assortment of bows on hand too, I'd check them out. They are Sponsors and are on the drop-down list above.
Dan Toelke at Montana Bows. He'll build a two piece whip in around 5 weeks. Do a search on the site, you won't find a bad word about his work.
Shipping is the best idea given your timeframe. Then you will know you like the set up-arrows, string and bow.
Well what about a 3 pc TD? I know of someone that might be able to pull that off in your time request. If you want more info just send me a message. He builds nice bows, going to get one myself soon.
Thanks, yes, medical issues in the family are never fun. I have a Northern Mist Classic 2/piece, may take that one (though I don't enjoy it as much as my Abbott). As a LEFTY options are VERY limited for a 2-piece used, but I have an ad up. Shipping is a no-go —I'm off to the home country: Italy. I'm not shipping anything fragile AND valuable. HA!
Dan Toelke Montana bows.
The last Great Northern Jackknife Bushbow I ordered was 8 weeks. Jerry often has a few in stock for immediate shipment.
Another vote for Bama Bows and Nate. Can't go wrong, I love my two piece Hunter.
Fred Hermann bows i believe his is short
Allan Boice at Liberty ... great bows and usually a very quick turn arond time ... his fitting of the connexion hinge is the best I have seen .
He is a sponsor here ... his Contender is just about as sweet ashooting bow as you can get and his new "Edge " gets rave reviews .
Myself bieng a straight limb fella prefer his "English " model but am currently working on a Contender for competition and hunting .
Great guy ... great service ... Superb bow !
Chad Holm. Holm-Made bows. Great bow and best buy for the money. I have lots of great bows, and my two piece Osprey with BowBolt is top notch.
