The 1982 Howard Hill Invitational was really wonderful. Besides all the fun of competition and fellowship we were hosted by Howard's brother Stinson and his wife who opened their home there in Wilsonville. There was lots of wonderful food and some of Howard's movies, but the neatest part for me was being allowed in their home which housed so much Howard Hill memorabilia.....and think of this....getting to hold in your hands one of his bows. The bow in my hand was named "White Eagle" and we were told it weighed 56#'s and was the bow he used most in his exhibition shooting. It was not a particularly beautiful bow by today's standards, but was well crafted of bamboo and well balanced. It bore Howard's signature on one of the limbs and "White Eagle" on the other. What a thrill to hold it and some of the other items that had such a rich history.
