added new pics to page 2.
Was talking with Elmer a few weeks back, I had recently sold my "Dalton" longbow and wanted to replace it with something a tad more # draw weight. These are among the best mannered, quiet yet fast shooting "D" strung bows out there.
Im normally not a huge fan of Myrtle risers, but this piece was denser, heavier, and looked better then most. The veneers are some of the stuff IdahoCurt had listed here on TG.
Im going to wrap the handle myself, I am looking for some nice Elk leather. Think im going to try Selway's new strap quiver with the double pins.
Bow came in at #51@28 and is 62", here are some "shop" pics from Elmer, should arrive today or tommorow will add pics when it arrives-

this afternoon cant come quick enough, hope to have it in hand by 2:30.
Nice.......Matt........VERY NICE
Matt, Very good looking bow. You were right on your choice on the myrtle for your riser, looks awesome. Shoot her well, good luck.
Awesome love the wood combinations.
i will add this is a bow that Elmer already had in process, he picked all the materials etc. i just "tagged" it before he finished it out.
Beautiful bow!
Striking!!!!!
Elmer builds some great looking and great shooting bows, that's for sure! You're gonna love your bow without a doubt. Congratulations!
Bill
Nice looking bow, great looking wood combo!
Wow! That is some stunning myrtle
Beauty! :archer:
 Another nice Dalton from Elmer, enjoy it!
Well it did arrive today, just about gave up and saw the mail lady on my way out.
Ive shot it some and as expected its quiet, very "pointable", dead in the hand etc. Shooting CE150's, cut to 29, with 200 gr up front, about 540 total weight. Going to work up a properly tuned set up later, but the way it shoots this may already be "it".
Here are a few more photos, its much better looking than I anticipated. Ive been wanting a real basic longbow that actually looks like "wood", this one hit the mark head on.

Looks Great!!!
gonna wrap the grip today, will post some pics when done, was debating this and I just like the feel of leather.
Looks like you got a good one there my friend!
Very nice bow there Lamey!
That is a very nice bow.
I love the way that myrtle looks like its lit from the inside.
Very rich combo .... Love Myrtle :)
thanks all, it really shoots great too, got the grip cut out and will lace up today... running behind as usual!
trying to decide wether to put a quiver on it or not.
some pics of the grip, used the leather that Elmer sent with the bow. After I first installed it, i wanted it a little darker, applied some Lexol and it darkened up. Will probably wind up somewhere between the 2 when "dry".

I like the feel of leather also and the color of that grip is real nice. Shame to cover that lovely riser though. She is a beaut!

My thoughts exactly!
yeah but i will say it sure feels even better now, and that grip gives some good "texture", a good things when my hands get all clammy and shaky :biglaugh:
that is a sweet looking bow! i like the wood combo!
the bow shoots my standard "go to" arrow, a CE 150 cut to 29", with 200 gr, up front great. Was grouping bare shafts straight/true with my fletched arrows at 15 yards. Good enough for me.
Lamey, that is one of the most beautiful longbows I have seen! Stunning.
Man, that is an absolute beauty. I believe i will keep these pics as an example of a combination i would like to build one day. I cant stop coming back to this post.
Thanks so much for sharing.
Matt, this bow looks almost as good as the bow I bought from you, love my dalton bro. Elmer makes a great bow, quiet, smooth as silk and dead in the hand, almost forgot, love this longbow.
