The limbs stay bent just a touch toward the belly of the bow when unstrung. In this picture a Howard Hill is on the right and a Northern Mist Shelton on the left.  The Shelton has a bitmore string follow than the Hill.

If you are referring to laminated bows, read Rob and Sunset Hill's explanations down this page:

They are quieter, less aggressive in the hand at the shot, more forgiving as well.
If you think those are advantages, and, can live with the whopping 3 or so fps difference...
The advantage will be experienced.

I just looked in "Hunting the Hard Way" by HH and he says he prefers a longbow with slight string follow.  I own two HH longbows and neither one has string follow.  Where can you get a longbow with string follow, or does this happen over time if you leave the bow strung?

you will probably not be able toshoot the difference I have several hills 2 sunset hills i hunt w the sunset hill yes it is alittle more gentle in the hand on release also a few ft per second slower I have a70 inch hill that shoots great theres only one way to find out buy one

Flingblade, Howard Hill Archery makes string follow bows....you have to request that design when ordering.  Several other makers do as well....Northern Mist, Sunset Hill, David Miller, Jack Belcher, and I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting at the moment.

Thanks David.  I have switched to shooting my 52 lb. BW recurve as my Hills are 65 and 70 and I have been having shoulder trouble recently.  I am considering buying a 45-50 lb. Hill or similar D style and I think I will try a string follow bow this time.

Almost any bow I make.  Ya want one?    :D  

But really, some folks consider that the advantages of mild string follow outweigh the disadvantages.  I tend to agree, although in the same breath I'll praise my recurves, which obviously have no string follow.  

You aren't likely to develop string follow with a fiberglass bow by leaving it strung.  It would need to be designed that way in the first place I would imagine.

The more I see those Hill bows on here the more I think I might have to order one.  They are really neat.  I've seen a couple on the site that would be nice.

Hey, Boyd, don't think there is much chance of that.    

The Hill is a Big Five, 68", marked 48@28 but is really 52@28.  Gray glass onboth sides and the riser is ebony.

The Northern Mist is also 68", 51@28".  The limbs are American elm stained brown and the riser is a pretty brown cocobolo.  I picked that one up off the rack at Baltimore last year.

I also have another NM Shelton that two buddies got for me when I retired from 45 years of ministry as a pastor.  She's 68", 49@28, bamboo limbs under green glass with a myrtle riser. Here is her picture--a really sweet bow.
