What is yr easiest way to take off the nock on wood arrow?
Thanks
I've held a lighter flame to them for just a few seconds until they got soft, then pulled them off with pliers. You can't reuse them, but they cost so little that it shouldn't matter...
I catch 'em on fire. Let burn for a couple seconds and then push off with a knife blade. Don't breath the fumes. I'm cheap but anyone who re-uses plastic nocks is my hero! :bigsmyl: ...Van
Van,
Dude, havn't seen anything out of you since coming back myself. Good to see you again.
As for nock removal. I'm with the rest heat and pull.
Troy
Yep heat will get it done
I agree with using heat, but before doing that I'll clamp the nock in a vise and give a twist on the shaft. It's surprising the number of times the nock will come loose without doing anything more than that.
heat gun works
Regular pliers work great - just "massage" the nock by squeezing the pliers gently and slowly turning the arrow - the nock usually just comes right off. Carefully scrape off any remaining glue with a sharp knife and you are ready for the next step....

I usually hit mine with another arra
I run hot water and put just the nock under it. Use pliers to twist off.
I boil water and set the nock in there for about 5 seconds. No fumes, no damage to nock, can reuse.

I use pliers ,but when i make my arrows I make sure to put a double coat of poly on the taper,it helps keep the wood from getting buggerd up.
If they are douglas fir usethe lighter method or you will screw up the taper for sure. And reglue them on with fletchtite it holds and will break loose with pliers and a little wiggling.
