Title: martin savannah??
Post by: toby on July 29, 2011, 06:50:00 PM
I'm thinking of getting one, but haven't seen one. How large is the grip? I currently shoot a Tomahawk Longbow by 3 River and like the small grip.

At the narrowest part of the grip, my 40# Savannah is 4 1/2" around. Which seems fairly small. The grip on my Martin Hunter is 5 1/4" at its narrowest point.

Hope this helps.

To me the grip seems narrow , which I love. This bow is a great shooting bow.

I am drooling over this bow myself. I have shot one, and it shot great. I want to invest a little, and hopefully finally get a bow I can hang on to for a while.

Was goung to get a custom, but I dont have the chance to shoot any of them.

From everything I am told, the Savannah is pretty much as good as any other bow out there, provided that the grip works for you.

I think the grip is fantastic

I currently own a Tomahawk and love it, it has a very small grip, about 5 1/2" at the widest point.

Not trying to rain on anyone parade here, but at one time I had 5 longbows by Martin, 3 Bamboo Viper's, and two Savannah's, and in my experience, the Viper's are superior to the Savannah's due to the bamboo and the carbon backing the Viper has. I also like the grip better on the Viper's, it's not as narrow.
