Who else loves a Centaur? I do! :jumper:
I have one being built in Oct. It is a Chimera 44#@28 62" with XTL lamination. Ken
I have a Triple carbon ... all I can say is WOW. it's by far the faster, smoothest bow I have or had. It's a 62" 52@29 ... If I could ever figure out how to post pictures I would list a few.
I'm just getting to know mine intimately. Got a 58", 52# triple carbon, coco and osage riser. Bought a spot of a fellow trad ganger and had a whole two week wait (sorry guys, had to rub it in a bit). I think I'll call her "canned heat". Every time I shoot, I'm still in disbelief how fast a 520 gr arrow goes out of this small package. Had to put a bow quiver on for more weight and stability. Smooooth draw. Might have Jim reduce the palm swell and throat a bit, we'll see. I'm very satisfied.
I sure do! Mine has the purdiest cocobolo you'll ever see for a riser, sweet, dark myrtle for limbs, and curves to be jealous of. Kicks an arrows butt great, especially for a 40 ponder. Purrfect grip and durable finish and made by an honest and service providing fellar as well!
Some pics ^^

You mean Joe? Juniper limbs and Osage and Ebony riser, blended together to make one frickin' hot hunting bow. Jim's bows, silencers, and broad heads are all so well made. You guys really need to take a look at his broad heads. Wow!Both of the deer I harvested with these heads died within sight of my stand.Huge Holes! Jim is also a pretty good guy to deal with.Maybe the most important aspect of Jim's bows is that they are fun, really fun to shoot. Peace!
Mine are 60" Chimera's with XTL lams. :jumper: :archer2:
SveinD, your bow is beautiful those myrtle limbs have to be the prettiest i have ever seen. Good stuff there.
That last pic of his was rather racy. :o
Killdeer :nono:
SveinD, that's a beauty!
Centaurs are everything you hear, smooth, beautiful, and fast, and Jim work with you to build you the bow of your dreams. My latest one Jim added some weight in the riser to give it more heft and it is a more sable bow then my other ones. Not that the others were bad mine you, just liked a little more weight.

In general what do y'all think about the finger grooves?? Im getting an order for one together and right now opting for no finger grooves.
Lamey .. I would go with the finger groves .. they set your hand in the same place each time you grab the bow ... I feel it's one of the big +'s for Jim's bows.

Yep! :campfire:
hmm... i just like the more classic "look" without the grooves.... will have to shoot both and decide, at least I have plenty of time to figure it out!
Man, if your looking for a good one, Jim told me he has a firey Juniper, in stock, around 50lbs.
Check his site out!
Hey Matt,
I 've 3 Centaurs and 2 have finger grooves and one without, the two with are also different in that one has grooves for all my fingers and one for just 2 (index and pointer). I prefer my latest with just the 2 finger grooves and a little more palm swell, but either way I rather have them then not have them. They do help in having a more consistent hand placement.
Here a comparison of the two
