so I sold my ACS a grabbed a Silvertip off the Classifieds. Most times they were to much money or way to heavy ,but this one was in the ball park for me. 60" 52# @ 29.5 with a checkered grip.Pics were on the classifieds, dark Bocote, non FF model! Well it got here today and all I can say is I'm glad I didn't wait any longer. I shot cedar, ash, alum., carbon and it does not care. Smooth and with a bit of tuning it will be almost silent. I have wanted one for over 20 years........and I am pleased!!
Ron,
Great score! Does this mean you are done buying other bows?
Congrats!!
Shot one this past weekend. Very nice!
Jack...never say never....lol :biglaugh:
Ron,
Been down the same road you have. Just never took the plunge. When I lived in AL acouple of friends ordered bows from Dave and were totally satified. I shot their bows and really like the way they handled.
Congrats on the purchase.
Troy

Good for you. Are You going to take it out hunting this fall?
Ron, glad it worked out for you. Like I said, if you decide you don't want it, please let me have first crack at it because it is so difficult to find one in a lower draw weight.
Bring it to Denton Hill so I can try it out! I saw you were coming out on the motorcycle.
Congrats! While I have never owned a SilverTip, I have always be drawn to them.
Ron,they are great hunting bows easy to tune and shoot, congrats.
ron -
Good for you. I've never had the privilege of shooting a Silvertip. Hope to rectify that soon.
Danny
Ron- Congrats!
You'll love it, at least I know I love mine! Good find :archer:
Pictures! ;-p
Can't wait to try it. Hopefully it will solidify the specs. for the one I have on order.
Good find.

HA! We though he was done when he found the "ONE"
Good-oh!
Saw the pictures over in the classifieds. That's a great looking bow!
QuoteJack...never say never....lol [biglaugh]
Yep, I'm never saying never again!.....Hey wait a minute!
Ron, congrats and hope it works out for you.
Way to go Ron! Pics & shoot report pdq! Great bow.
Very cool! Gotta take pics and share!
Thanks for the good thoughts....as far as taking it hunting, I think it will now be my back up for my Elk hunt. I'm shooting my Osprey pretty good so I'm going to stick with that for the hunt. But boy does this shoot nice!
Got a chance to shoot it some more today. Hotter that heck out but I made do.....I'm amazed how it seems to not care what arrow you use. 60-65 cedar,50-55 poplar, 45-60 Carbon express,60-75 carbon Express, 60-65 laminated birch....ranging from 550 gr to 750 gr. With very little change. Naturally the heavier you go they drop a bit quicker ,but as far as flight they look good. Did a bit of tuning and she is almost silent....I think it's a keeper  !!!
Congrats Ron , they are nice bows. Drew
Went for a bit of a stump fest this mourning, five of us hit the state land and I brought the Silvertip for show and tell. Let the guys shoot it and got a good response from the test drives....so it's not just me. It's a nice bow!!
congrats Ron!
Congrats, Ron. I have never shot a tip but it's on my list. You are a tad bit far for a test drive :D
Congrats, Ron. I've been looking awhile myself. Only shot one, but it was smooth as silk.
Congrats!
My Silvertip Longbow was the first bow I've had custom made and bought brand new, I've always bought used bows, but always wanted a Silvertip too. I've had mine for a few years now and have sold all my other bows except for 1, even sold a 2pc Silvertip longbow. Absolutely love it as I'm sure you will too.
Well , I got the call from Beth today, They need my riser to fit my new limbs that I ordered. I'm excited, my new limbs have Black Glass, make a 60" bow and will be 46# @ 29". In a couple of weeks I'll be ready to go!! :wavey: :jumper: :jumper:
:saywhat: :bigsmyl:
You'll enjoy that bow Ron. Congratulations on finally getting one.

:bigsmyl: Can't beat a Schafer :goldtooth:
Killer RW! If I shot recurves I'd have a Schafer.
Ron, congrats. Welcome to the unique world of the Silver Tip. It doesn't get ay better in my opinion.
I know i looked at it, congrats! Hope you continue to enjoy it as much as you are now!
Good luck with the new bow Ron. They are nice shooters.
Congrats!
Congratulations on a great find!
I have accumulated a couple of Silvertips as well as a few others. I am beginning to ask myself why I have all the bows I have. The Silvertips just hit where I am looking. If I get in a shooting slump with one of the others, I grab the Tip and it brings me out of it. To be honest I have a Robertson Fatalstyk that will do the same for me, but I am really beginning to question if I need the rest of the arsenal.
D.P.
I can't wait to try those new limbs.
I have to admitt; those Silvertips do have a way of growing on a guy.
Congrats Ron! Can't wait to see the pics! :campfire:
Enjoy those new limbs, Ron :bigsmyl:
If I'm lucky I may have them for the Stumpfest in Rockwood at the end of April. ronp ,you can try them out and see what you think!!
That sounds great, I shouldn't be looking at any more bows, though. :scared:
Those weight limbs are right on for me.
Gee , maybe I won't let you shoot it.... :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
Good for you Ron, congrats!
F-Manny
excellent Ron.
congrats Ron
A guy could save himself a whole bunch of money if he just bit the bullet and got a Silvertip. I have owned over 30 custom bows from Morrisons to widows,Robertsons, bighorn, predator,RER, and a whole bunch more and have never shot anything this perfect for me. I have spent thousands of dollars even bought 13 different bows in one year, some are awsome bows but none have the silvertip feel for me. Im currently shooting a 60`` 61@29 tip and draw 30.25``. I cant beleive how smooth this bow is at this draw. I also have a 62`` on order and already am making plans for my next one after that. I have sold almost everything else and have no regrets, im a born again silvertip shooter.
congrats to you Ron!!!!!!Have to show you my HH collection this trad stuff is a real good sickness.
You have a collection already....LOL!
