I'm looking for a light waterproof pair of boots for early bow season. Any recommendations?
You could probably find some good recent threads using the search feature also, but I prefer Merrell's. I wear waterproof mid height Pulse or Radius models. They are not incredibly durable in my experience but hard to beat for comfort. Also very light but still good enough support to take off running down a mountain if need be. Good luck...Shawn
Muck boots. Awesome early season boots. TRW
One I'm looking hard at and may not be quite available yet is the Under Armour Speed Freek.Camo,Gortex, good tread and slightly over 2 lbs per pair.I had seen recently where Cabelas or one of the big chains had them pictured online but not in stock yet.
I'll revise that.Cabelas shows 2 of the 3 camo patterns in stock and they claim 1.4 lbs per pair.
I should add that I'm not looking for rubber.

I've been using these for a couple years now,lite weight,water proof-Just a good boot for the $$$
I have used L.L. Bean Maine hunting boots for years. Rubber bottom with a leather upper. They ahve them lined (with a Gore Tex) and unlined.
I've worn out various boots but the most comfortable pair hands down are the ASOLO. I bought them on the way to a 4 day bear hunt in rough mountain country and wore them right out of the box. Not a moments trouble.
Meindl's for me.
I have recently used Danner Pronghorns and really like them..Recommended from a buddy who has used his for 6-7 years. Always had good luck with Danner.... Scott
I have worn out a few pair of boots over the years but the last few years I have become a fan of Danner's too. The Pronghorn insulated or not are great. I also have a pair of the Jackel's that are 2 years worn and I do like them for warmer less intense hunting, they don't have the same structural strength as the Prongs but are lighter and quieter for stalks.
Gotta go with the Danner....
Thanks for your input guys. Mike.
Danner pronghorn
Danner here also........
I think it depends on the terrain that you hunt in. I perferr the "Bean" boot but then I hunt relativly flat ground. It is heavely treed and that means lots of leaves on the ground. Most every morning is damp.
Match the boot to the conditions of the hunt.
