Anybody tried the Kuiu spindrift jacket ? How warm is it, and how does the sizing run ? I'm usually an L or XL with most jackets.
Here is a blog post written about the Spindrift.

For myself, it's an athletic fit which runs true to size. You could also pose your question on KUIU's forum.

Hope this helps,

I just got one about a month ago, so needless to say it's been reallllly warm. Here in WI sitting in a treestand at 0 and dead calm I don't think you'd be able to get a shot at whitetail at 10 yards.
Bowmania
I ordered one for my backpacking trip at the end of April. It's like the liner of a jacket, not bulky, very compressable for backpacking. Late afternoon temps were in the 40's while setting up camp. A long sleeve lightweight synthetic top, plus the jacket and hat kept me warm enough. I'll be using it as an insulating layer under my hunting top for late October, early November hunts. It's perfect as a second/third layer...warm but not bulky. I like it.
Thanks guys. Bowmania, do you mean the fabric is noisy ?
I believe that is what bow mania was hinting at. Mine is a little noisy by its self, but is quiet when worn under the guide jacket or another quiet outer layer. It was designed to be worm as an under layer, under another garment.
What Walt says is absolutely correct. The Spindrift was designed to be worn UNDER an outerwear layer when hunting, both for noise suppression and protection of the thin, slick material covering the Spindrift. The jacket is thin, light, compressible and warm and perfect for its intended purpose.
With respect to fit, the Spindrift runs true to size. I normally wear size large, and that is what I wear in the Spindrift. The Spindrift is similar in design to the Sitka Kelvin jacket and the Patagonia MicroPuff jacket except designed better for hunting when worn under an outer jacket. I have all three brands of these Primaloft insulated jackets, so I am not saying this without an adequate comparison of the three of them, all of which are very nice jackets. I also have two North Face Redpoint jackets which are insulated with Primaloft. They are nice too, but are not as thin and minimalist in design as the other three brands. I don't think you would be disappointed with the Spindrift.
