Not to long ago I read something about the 29 and 31 inch arrows you can get at walmart about spine and who makes them. Anyone have that thread? I did a search but couldn't find it.
If they are the same arrows I saw here in Kansas they were made in china..Spine I think was 45-70
Jim,
I'm pretty sure there made by Carbon Express. Not sure on the spine. Hope this helps.
Yup, they are carbon express. They are thunderstorms, rebel 4560 (Wolverine 5060) and rebel 6075 if I remember correctly.
I got some carbon express 6075 terminators from walmart earlier this year.
THANKS GUYS
Scott has it right, good arrows and sometimes I have gotten them for a buck a piece. Shawn
It's complicated.
In addition to the named arrows w/ spine deflection specs which sell individually, Wal-Mart gets in boxes of un-named arrows (the box indicates Carbon Express) which have no markings (save for a sticker w/ a bar code) and come in two lengths, 29" and 31". This year the boxes are divided into 4 sections and one can also get camo arrows for $4 (plain are $3) and they've marked the boxes and stickers w/ a range of draw weights (inconsistently --- box says one thing, sticker another).
I bought half-a-dozen each last year and shot the 31" arrows until recently replacing them w/ Carbon Express Heritage 150s. The unmarked arrows were okay and I enjoyed shooting them, but when I made a spine tester of Lego bricks I found they had several different deflections, which explained why I was only grouping so well --- I'm doing much better w/ the CX Heritage 150s.
You made a spine tester with Lego bricks? Love it. Please post pics :wavey:  ...Van
Carbon Express also has aluminum 2117 at wally world. I got 3 of them. They are black in color w/vanes. I did one thread on the arrows.
Don't buy cheap crap from Walmart, your archery deserves better.

I couldn't disagree more. Those CX Rebel 6075's are REALLY good shafts. I stump and stump and stump with them, and have yet to break one. The weight seems decent, and they seem very consistent. Bigger cost doesn't necessarily equate to higher quality. Just sayin.
I've shot Wally's CE carbon and Al arrows with no complaints. They are definitely uniform and consistent for weight, spine, and straightness. Not the BEST arrows I own, but not bad at all and excellent for the price.
I shoot the Carbon Express from Walmart and agree with Spectre. I don't know about the unmarked ones, but I assume the Carbon Express are the same as you get anywhere else.
I buy most of them late season when they drop the prices to a couple bucks each. They fly great from all my bows, and I haven't broken one yet.
I picked a few up yesterday that are marked 45-70, 29", Carbon Exacta by Allen. Any idea what these are? It looks like you can use Gold Tip components in them. For three bucks an arrow thought I would try them out just gotta get some points and weights for them.
Would be nice if they sold carbon express heritage 250's.
Funny, I got the 4560 carbon express from Walmart for stumping. Even footed with 2" of aluminum they fly the same as my Easton Raider carbons (Dicks Sporting Goods Exclusive)do out of my Shrew. I replace the crappy vanes with parabolic fletch and they are good to go.
I like to clean out the left overs after the season is over sometimes for a buck apeice as mentioned above. Can't beat that for a stump arrow.
Dang, Now the secrets out and there won't be any left to buy at the end of the season
Steve
I put six of the CE 4560's on my scales and they ran within 4-5 gr of each other. Fitted them with 125gr field points and got respectable groups at 20-30 yards. I don't know if I'd hunt with them, but at $2.75 each plus tips, they make pretty good practice shafts.
Yea, leave my arrows alone lol. I used the same one on three deer last year. With 200-250 up front, they shoot well on almost all my bows.
I bought a plastic bag full of Martha Stewart trad bamboo arrows at K-Mart years ago.Hard to find they were in lawn an garden.Word was she was coming out with M.S 3 Ds soon.
After seeing this thread i went and got a "Allen" arrow 29" just to try it out. I really hope they work! i could use some cheap arrows to bust up!!!
huskyarcher,
Do you have any way to check the spine on those shafts?

Aw don't worry the Gold Tip crowd ain't interested in these arras
I did notice that Gold Tip inserts fit these shafts and they look alot like the Expedition series.
i bought 3 of the 2216 allum arrows to test out and if they work ill be buying a whollle bunch more
I wait till after season ends and buy them as cheap as I can get them then refletch them of course.

Nope they say "45-70" but thats about it. Im just going to fletch it up and shoot it and see how it does, I doubt i would deer hunt with them just because they feel so light, but heck if they work ill buy at least a dozen more for rabbits stumps!
I've spine checked these. I buy them every year they spine on the heavy side for sure 45/60 come in mostly in the 300 range. @31" so cut them and you up it near too stiffThey are very good quality I keep them long and shoot heavy tips. Keep in mind though. These arrow ratings are for highly efficient compound bows.
A friend at work gave me six 2117s to try. The first two shots ended up with broken knocks and two dry fires on my bow. Thank god no damage. I will not use them again. Just a heads up.
Update: I fleched mine up and shot it with one of my bows and it flew excellent. The nock did fly out after a few shots, but hey a little super glue in the nock and i have some mean rabbit, squirell, stump arrows.
Does anybody have any experience with these arrows and deer?
i got a 2216 set up and it flys well off my longbow even with the vanes mr 'eichler tip right there so far it seems good to be able to do
i just got some of the allen 45-70 31 inch arrows fletched them and they seem to shoot as good as i can out of my 55 lb bear longbow .
as long as they hit the spot do you think the deer mind if you payed 3 dollors a peice or 25 lol .
just my 2 cents ,
Scott
Update: I got the points in that I was waiting for. Shot two fletched and two bareshaft. I ended up with 175 grain points with 80 grains behind the inserts and they fly great!! The weights on nine arrows ( some fletched and some bareshaft) ranges from 546 grains to 560 grains.
I did have to reglue all of the inserts and I used Bohning nocks intead of what they came with. As a side note, the inserts in these shafts look like carbon express.
well our store is now out of all the allums they had and im 4 dz arrows up
I shot the carbon express terminater hunters from there a few years ago. I replaced the vanes and ended up with a fairly cheap dozen that was the death of several critters. Waiting on the price jdrop after the season is over. Make for some really good sqirrel arrows too.
I am shooting the CE 30in 50-60 Devils Wrath arrows from Walmart out of my Bamboo Viper. They shoot great. I emailed CE and questioned them about the spine for these and they told me that the Devils Wrath spines at .397. They are also 10 grains per inch, so for me, a dang good carbon arrow.
But with that said, I am making the move back to aluminum, just need some .400 spine gamegetters for my longbow.
The $3 Allen 45-70 seem to fly straight for me out of my longbow. I'm going to make a set of footed flu-flu arrows out of them for stumping and small game shooting.
Be careful i have used them before and the knock ends crack easy just from target shooting.
I tried the ce thunderstorm arrows from there. The black model spined in at 72lbs and the camo spined in at 57lbs. I bought several of each color and the spine was consistent for each color.
