As most of ya'll know.........I already own a very beautiful Blacktail "Snakebit" and have had it since April Fools Day of 2010. About 3 days after I recieved my first Blacktail recurve, I put myself back on Norm's list for an Elite VL with two sets of limbs.
I am a very patient person......and I do just fine "up until" I get the call to finalize exactly what I want with the bow. I, once again, opted for the gloss finish and this time I even had him checker the grip for me. Norm emailed me this evening with a "sneak peek" at what I will have in my hands before the end of this week.
The bad news is........that I work 7 days on and then 7 days off and most likely it won't arrive in time for me to be able to shoot it until after the 27th of this month.
But..........I should be able to have all the drool cleaned off of it before then.

Don, do you ever clean out those other gorgeous bows that you bought while waiting for this one to get there? Now I realize that while you were buying some great bows that they were just holding your place in line for Norm's bows! Can't wait to see the pics. What weight limbs are you getting?
In my opinion, Norm makes the most beautiful bows in the world -- maybe even the most beautiful wood products in the world! He is a true master. And the bows shoot great too. :notworthy: I ordered my Snakebit with 45# and 55# limbs, and it is absolutely spectacular.
Allan
Mike,
Nope........I only "clean out" the ones that I don't shoot consistantly. I can always get another bow rack built. :bigsmyl:
One set is reverse footed and one set is some real nice myrtlewood veneers I had IdahoCurt send to Norm for me. 45# @ 29".......and 52# @ 29". As soon as I can get the picture uploaded to photobucket, I'll post it. Grandchildren are keeping me busy at the moment......its "bath time".
The picture is before the final buffing out on the gloss finish, so it'll look even better after he's totally finished with them.

I wonder if the myrtle is from the batch that South made my limbs from. Any way, if it is from Curt is is amazing veneers. Have fun with bath time!
Most likely it is.........I think I remember you getting yours around the same time I got mine.
Anyways..........bath time is over.
And here she is......

Hey Don: Really Sweet, I did the same thing as you, as soon as I got my last one in, I ordered another. This one will be the Snakebit with Black and White Ebony. Like the Reverse Footing on that one pair of limbs, Norm did that on my last one as well. Like you ugly bow saying. RW
Don, that bow is incredible!! I think my first Blacktail should be in the same batch as yours as I am expecting it anyday now....Shawn
Beautiful bow. I like the longer footing on the limbs, is that what you meant by "reverse footed"?
Don, that is a Beaut!! and your a good grandpa, seen you with the little one at comptons, grandchildren are truly a blessing.
:clapper:
Very nice ... that riser is beautiful and with the limbs a work of art. Blacktails are very pretty bows and great shooters too.

Thanks Tom......that means a lot coming from you. Yes, the shoulder is coming along fine....shooting wise. It still isn't without pain while doing other things and moving certain ways. I'm figuring that it will take a year to be pain free and even then, I'll still need to do some stretching to keep it from tightening up.

RW, They are "addictive"......aren't they ??? I actually borrowed your signature line from a while back, because it pretty much summed up my feelings about "beautiful things" in the fewest words possible.

Yes, my grandchildren are my pride and joy. If they keep hangin' out with their Pap and Grandma, they are destined to be future outdoors fanatics.
Where did you see us at while up at Comptons ???

 Awesome bow!
Ronny, TJ and everyone else.......Thank-You all for the compliments. Norm Johnson has to be credited with his abilities to put together such a piece of "working art". All I did was tell him what woods I wanted him to work his magic with. He truly is one of the best in the business to work with.
I'm sure there will be more pics to follow after I recieve it and get a chance to take some.
So.........stay tuned !!!

Don, seen yous walking into or out of the range, i remembered you cuz the year before i met you at my first comptons, we have the same style quivers made by Bobby.
Awesome, gorgeous, beautiful, hard to pick just one word. Absolutely a work of art! Your limbs are outstanding!
Stunning...Gorgeous...
