Title: Strange Coincidences
Post by: Bill Kissner on July 17, 2011, 08:52:00 PM
Everyone has at one time or another had certain things happen that seem to be unbelievable. My wife and I are in our hunting camp in southwest Colorado awaiting elk season. Last week we made a trip into town to replenish the larder in the camper. On the way back to camp about 3:30 PM we rounded a curve in the gravel road and there stood a bear. He was simply walking across the road and paused momentarily to look our direction, then continued on into the oak brush. He was charcoal colored and the tips of his hair was almost pure white.

Fast forward to today. Some friends whom have a cabin close by, invited us to go on a drive up to Silverton. After spending most of the day eating and shopping we were on the way back to camp. It was 3:30 this afternoon when we were approaching the same curve. I was telling our friends about seeing the bear last week "just around this curve". Well, you will not believe it but when we rounded the curve, there in the road within feet of where it stood last week was the SAME bear, in the same pose. He moved off into the oak brush just as before so we had no time to get pictures. It was like time had stood still. Now I know stranger things have happened but this was pretty wierd.

That was like a time I went to a Bible study and had a Gamewarden with me that lived right down the road that drove with me and on the way home we were both talking about a couple of Piebald whitetail deer we seen in the area and I seen three actually and was commenting on it...When we reached the area that we both have wittnessed seeing them well there they were... One was walking in front of my truck and I could see the other one laying in a farmers yard from my headlights and we were both thinking Wow how about that...Maybe our Creator was just letting us know He was with us and wanted to share His Creation with us one more time...Funny thing was after that night I have never seen them again and that was over 3 or 4 years ago....Thanks for sharing your story with us...God Bless, Keefer's <")))><

i lived in arizona for about 5 years back in th early 90s. i went camping with a friend and during our 4 day trip we had problems with black bears visiting our camp. when our trip was over i told a friend about the trip and what a great place it was despite the bears. we made plans to take a 4 day trip the next month. on our way there he was giving me a hard time about "making up stories about the bears". we were about 10 minutes away from our destination and he turned to me and said " well don, where are all these bears you claim are up here"? the words were barely out of his mouth when a black bear ran across the road about 20 yards in front of our truck. i looked at him and he said "ok, i'll give you that one". don

Maybe it's a ghost don't laugh. I had a friend that moved to a farm. Saw a ulgy tri colored dog 4 times walking into the barn from his house 100 yards.
Each time he went to trap him in the barn by shutting the door. BUT WHEN HE WHEN TO LOOK FOR HIM HE COULDN'T FIND HIM.
One day he talks to a neibour. He said yea that MR.Jasons old cow dog. MR.Jason was the old farmer that use to own the farm. He'd been put in a nurseing home 4 years before. The guy said I've seen him walking out at the mail boxs twice.
My frind said who takes care of his dog. The guy saids you don't understand he got killed by a truck out at the mail boxs 10 years ago.
 VERY TRUE STORY
Maybe the bear had been hit by a car.

It's illegal to bait in Colorado now I believe.

No bear tag this year Mike as I had a brain cramp and let the date they went over the counter go by. They sell out usually in the first 15 minutes.

We had a couple bears come through camp but the dogs barking kept them moving so we have not had any problems this year so far. In previous years they have broken in to my out building and pretty much destroyed things inside.

I'll give you a strange coincident. A couple days after Christmas back in 1987 I was skiing at Big Mountain in Whitefish, Mt. Strange things happen to Gene and I being identical twins and all. At exactly 1:30 PM when I broke my leg Gene was 150 miles from me. At EXACTLY 1:30 when I broke my leg he never felt a damn thing!  UB

Hey Barry, he shoulda felt a little pain just to be sympathetic don't you think?!   :)

Elmer, we are having showers most every afternoon. Grass is green and we are seeing elk within 1/2 mile of camp. Looks as if things will be better than last year. Things could change dramatically though in the next month.
