I am thinking of becomeing a Kenetrek dealer. I was wondering how many of you would like to see these boots at Denton Hill? These boots are by far the most popular boot in the west. Most guides and seriuos hunters will own these boots. They are a very rugged boot but with out the weight. They are the only boot in this class that is resolable the rest are just throw aways. This alone makes them a better value in long run. There is little break in period and there rockerd sole make them a joy to hike in all day. I have owned a pair for 3 yeras and have guided and lived in them for months. They by far are the best boot I have owned and I have owned them all! The Mountain Extreme 400 gram insulated is there most popular boot. I have the 400 and there not bad even when its hot. With gators they become a boot that is great even in the deep snow. They also have a great line of insulated pac boots that can also be rebuilt. When the rubber is trash send them in and they will put brand new bottoms on. It will take a considerable investment to become a dealer. With that said if any one who was thinking of these great boots and will be at Denton hill let me know. If you preordered it would save on shipping. So check out there website and let me know if your intrested. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I would really like to have these boots for you guys to try out. But I have to see some intrest before taking the leap!
Thanks Scott
I would love to see them there. Always thought they look like a great boot and the chance to see them in person or maybe even try them on might sway me to purchase them.
Scott I would love to see Kennetrek come out with a wider pac boot. I went to the Harrisburg sportsman's show to buy a pair but they were too narrow, the two guys selling them told me they could have sold another 25 or 30 pairs that week if they came in a wide. They look like a great boot, good luck.
Love to take a look at 'em. I'll check them out online first. Maybe I'll be your first order.
Hey Scott,
I just looked up the web site...looks like my kinda boot since I wear size 15!!
Jeff,
If you wear a size 15 I am going to be looking up to you and not in just your bladesmith abbilities!!!
Really like the 13" Rancher. Looks much nicer than the LL Beans I have. I would love to try on pair at Denton.
Scott, i am total agreement with you. I have owned many boots from most all of the boot companies available. By far the best bots i have ever worn are my Kenetreks. I liked them so much i even bought my 25 year old a pair.
I am considering their pac boots and their hard tactical. I think it would be an excellent line to represent.
The one down side is their cost. Seems many folks i talk to are not willing to spend the money.
I feel as though they are absolutely worth the investment.
Good luck whatever you do and i will be watching.
Jack
Jack,
Yes the investment is sometimes more than some people want to spend. But they are deffinetly the better value in the long run. I have never had a pair of throw aways last more than a year and half. At a $100.00 to $150.00 a crack for a pair of throw aways its easy to see Kenetrek is the deal of the century!!
Scott,
No question Kenetrek is well made boot - I have 4 pair of them - 2 insulated and two non insulated. These were purchased from Cabelas under the model Cabelas Mountain Hunter boots made in same factory in Italy exact same boot. When Kenetrek started importing them Cabelas dropped that model/line.
My only question is why could Cabelas sell them for $100.00 pair less than the Kentrek price? Labels not that exspensive. That is the only question I would be asking Kenetrek. Other than that they are fantastic boots and I will pay the Kenetrek price if I ever need more.
I would definitely like to see someone handle them. With any shoes or boots anymore, I feel you have to try them on. Its hard to get a good fit when you order through the mail and its expensive to ship them back if not satisfied. If they are narrower than some, I would be interested.
Lets get some more intrest and they just may be in my booth!
I have a pair of Hardscrabble lites and they are by far the best boot I have ever worn!
ttt
I have two pairs of the Hardscrabble Lites, and they are great boots. I bought two pairs because Kenetrek was discontinuing that particular model that I really liked. I have other boots that I paid less for that are really good, but the Hardscrabbles really are light and are all I need for most of my hunting, even in the mountains. There are some situations where a heavier set of boots feels better.
There is one thing about some of the Kenetrek boots that I hate. It is the plastic lace holder that is attached to the middle of the tongue. The Hardscrabble Lites don't have that holder. On the boots that do, that holder gets driven into the top of my low insteps and just about kills me to even walk around for a few steps. I have talked to Jim about getting some of the heavier boots without the plastic holder, but he says that is not possible. So, for heavier boots I have to go to a different make. The Schnees Granite boots are the ones I prefer for my feet, but only because of that darn lace holder on the Kenetreks!!

Cut it off. I have never had a problem with that feature but you can easily just cut it off.
