I'm looking to purchase a Tall Tines recurve and thought I would get some feedback from everyone who has tried them. Please let me know your thoughts and any suggestions.
Thanks,
Marc
I couldn't be more happy w/ mine. Craftsmanship, smoothness, speed, and shootability are 2nd to none IMO. A++++++ to me.
With that being said.....the only issue I've heard from anyone that has owned one that decided to sell was the grip. Guys w/ large hands (like myself) say the grip hurts their hands and they give up and sell the bow in a short period of time. I think that given the chance these are 1 owner bows. The grip is diff, but becomes part of you w/ practice.
Great bows that you just don't see very often in the classifieds...and when you do...they don't last long.

Love mine! I have a phenolic riser with #47 Myrtle limbs. I have a second set of limbs on order (black glass @ #57ish) I also have a one piece on order that will be all Myrtle with a Macasser ebony flare @ #55.
Brians woods and his work is awesome but the shootablility of the bows is the real seller. The more I shoot mine the more I know it was a great purchase. You won't be disappointed!...Ryan

Check my new TallTines out, just posted pics

Brian has built me 2 recurves, and they are the best shooting bows I've ever owned. They are smooth, quiet, and plenty quick.
I think Brian has the best grip going with the (GRIP RIDGE). I had the grip checkered on one, and it's the perfect bow for me.
Some folks like them, some don't. Don't rely on opinions of others. Try to shoot one before deciding on any bow. There isn't a bow made that suits everyone.
Fantastic bows.
Fantastic bows.
It's a one of a kind bow. You won't find many bows that feel as good when shooting.
I have not had the chance to shoot one yet..but it is up there on my "to try" list. Uncle Barry seems to really like his. I can't wait to get my hands on one. I'm sure you will not go wrong. Have not heard a complaint yet!
Other than a a couple of collectables, all my other recurves are gone. I have owned most, and certainly all of the top performers, but after the first few shots I made stump shooting with Brian's own bow a few years ago, I knew none were as special as the TallTines. Smooth, fast, great grip! I have a bunch of 60"ers, long riser and short (waiting on a one piece) and love them from the turkey blind to the mountains. Great bow and the guy building them is top notch too.
Jon, if you are going to the Odd Year this weekend, I will have one or two you can take for a spin. Anytime for that matter.
Here's mine. Love it.
