Why does my 125 gr.Magnus 4 blade drop 3" from my point of impact lower than my 145 gr. field points? I am trying to learn 2 or 4 blade heads. ( I've only used 3 wensel woodies or snuffers). so.. when I shot @ my target in the backyard (15 yds) the bh had a hump in the flight and DROPPED !! No Matter the how the blade was positioned, Flat-vertical-45 etc..What the bleep isgoin on?
Sounds like it may be nock height, a little to high.
It is probably a tuning issue as L82HUNT says, meaning nocking point height.A fetched field point arrow may not show slight problems where a broadhead will magnify a tuning issue. When the broadhead impacts with the field point, you are tuned.Go to bowmaker.net and read the bow tuning information. You may only need to move the nocking point a small fraction,1/16" or less.
Could it REALLY be THAT simple?? I don't have much hair and it's rapidly falling out over this!! Was trying to bag a robber coon last night. Good thing I never got a shot!! I'll definitely try that!! I get back to you after I mow the yard and change nock height.. :goldtooth:
WELL Boys' your partly right. Nock was a little high. Major problem was shooting a arra that was not mine--Same make, same lenght,Buut had 3x5" fletch.Mine are 3x4,this one had a 9" capwrap .Mine don't..Mine have been tuned to my bow.Apparently this one isn't.Took a Bh test to reveal that fact. Funny how one subtle change can have such a HUGE impact..Now field points and BH Have same POI.Gotta refletch some...LOL. Thank's to ALL for the help.. Let that little trash nabber come back tonite BWAAA HAHAHA. :campfire:
Good deal glad you got it figured out.
Gandgolf, great minds must think alike! I just snuffed a chicken killin coon up here in Montana... They are tough little buggers.
Pick a spot.
For me broadheads are the final step in arrow tuning. It doesn't take much to make a "perfectly" tuned arrow with a practice point to do weird things when a broadhea is attached....especially a wide two blade.
I never would've believed.. No kiddin'.. IN GOD I TRUST :archer:
