Title: New from Farr West Leather
Post by: tim roberts on July 09, 2011, 08:18:00 PM
Recently, a faithful customer, asked if I would be interested in a building something other than armguards, quivers, string keepers and such.  Being one that is always on the hunt for new ideas, I said sure, why not.
Well, what he wanted was a few journal covers.  This is the proto type, and from the looks of it, it will be a product that I will be offering!

Here is the front of it, the possibilities for what is used as the closer is almost as endless as your imagination, this one has a piece of deer antler, with a few beads and wood arrowheads, that were laser cut.

Also, built into this one is a page marker.

There aren't any listed on the Sponsor's Classifieds as of yet, I am taking orders, though.
Any comments or questions are welcome, and encouraged!!!
Thanks,

Very, very nice!   :clapper:    :clapper:   Leather has a very cool stain.  I don't know that my thoughts would ever be worthy of jotting down in that though.

Forgot to add, the journal cover is made to fit the Rite in the Rain note book that is 4 5/8X 7 1/4.
LimBender,
For years, I have thought the same thing, and I am sure that I could come up with a 1000 excuses not to write thoughts, events, and things that happened down.  Recently though, due to a decision that I made some 10 or 12 years ago, someone suggested that I write an article about the last 10 nor so years, and in looking back I wish like heck I had written stuff down.................does that mean I will start doing it????
Thanks,

With the note book included they are going to start at around $60.00, this will include priority shipping in the good ole USA.  If I put a design in them the the price will go up a little bit.
Thanks,

If you consider the quality of leather and Tim's workmanship, these are well worth the price and more. Anyone who has one of his armguards knows what I'm talking about! I plan to have one on me at all times.

I can think of dozens of every-day uses besides a hunting journal, everything from job site notes to supply lists to important dates, numbers, and figures. In this age of smart phones and electronic devices nothing is more "traditional", and as easily accessible, as good old fashioned hand-written notes! Besides, I run out of room writing on my hands.

Also, I think of how nice it would be to have anything written by my grandad or great-grandad. Even if it's just my wandering thoughts or how many bucks were seen in a certain stand, I plan to leave something for my family to remember me by. I hope one day they'll be able to open grandpa's old notebook and get a sense of who I was and how times were back when. I can't think of a better way to do it than in a sturdy leather binder on waterproof paper!

Great idea and nicely done! Seems I have always used invisible ink or have a shortage of short term memory storage since I continue to repeat history.

Great job!
