i went and got 5 today from a local archery store, the guy cutting them was confused why i wanted them ,i said trust me and cut em,
put a 300 grain point on em and its hitting like a hammer, was showing just a we bit stiff ,checked my brace height and my string was off 3/4 of an inch ,twisted it back up and wammo went through a shot up bear target ,through 2 bales of hay and was sticking out about 3 inches from my wood fence.now these are the
.250-17.2 gpi
850 grains total weight
13.3 gpp
161fps
49.1 energy ft(lb)
tough as nails, got them shooting out of a 64# banshee takedown longbow @28" draw...10 strand string.
gonna use it this fall for deer and also next year for elk,got a buddy stationed at fort collins colorodo,we are gonna take a week off and go chase some.
Sounds like quite the set up brother
All of a sudden my ~700 grain GT 7595s seem puny!
ive been playing around with different shafts, thought about getting an old aluminum arrow and make a footing ,just to see what it can do.
Found something thats alot of fun .....playing around and trying to get the foc up.but maybe kinda hard on these heavy shafts .and i might mess the arrow flight up....keep yall posted.
Hey trumpkin.a 700grain arrow out of a 55 pound whip isnt puny, bet that bow is smoken them arrows
Just ordered some from Big Jim. Can't wait to try them. I'm gonna try them out of my 59# Acadian Woods
cut to 30" 75 gr insert and 125 gr heads equals 12.1% foc my other bow is 56# should be 15.7% foc.
I am not a carbon fan but I do like these FMJ shafts. I do not know yet how they maintain straightness over time but I will say conclusively that I now like these more than xx75s.
I have jokingly said many bad things about aluminum arrows and believe that aluminum is best used in beer cans, however, these full metal jackets are crazy (course that's because they are working in cahoots with carbon :) ). Especially the Dangerous Game.
Hoping to send one through a mule deer in Sept.
We stock them.
thanks, bigjim
I've been signing there praises for a few years now. They are an awsome, heavy, hard hitting hunting arrow. With an external aluminum foot just long enough to cover the HIT insert the can withstand some very hard hits.
primitivealltheway,,,Sorry dude you need to think about changing your handle. I don't see any reference to anything considered primitive in your set up at all :bigsmyl:
