Nice!!!!!
Where ya going?
My buddy's family use to own property around Iowa City, Zone 7. He still has connections with the local farmers so we have permission to hunt a few properties.
Thats my neck of the woods!!!
Good Luck!! :archer2:

I just checked the results, my buddy and I drew zone 4. I am retired now, will be heading out in October for ever how long it takes. Any information on zone 4 is appreciated.
Thanks, Dennis
Mike, actually if I can help out in any way, not just dragging out a deer, just let me know.
Dennis, I don't have any specifics on the area you are hunting. That is west of me, but good luck. Hope you tag a booner! If I can help you out someway, just let me know.
Thanks Lefty, as a matter of fact, you can help me out. Just point me in the direction of a 160 class buck and have him walk 15 yards from my stand. Can you do that? Doug, same goes for you!
Reservations already made at the Travel Lodge in Iowa City exit 246 off Rt 8o. November 10-16 or longer. can't wait! If you're close, drop by and have dinner with us one night. Three wheelie shooters and this Black Widow guy.
I'll have one tied up and waiting!
Sweet, I just checked and I drew as well!! Can't wait!
Mike, let me know if you need any thing.

Congrats Jamie! What zone? Just curious, how many preference points did you have? Wondering if the economy is making it a bit easier to draw if fewer guys are putting in.
Congrats! Congrats!! Congrats!!!
Spent three 3 years preparing for an Iowa hunt.
Made numerous phone calls, wrote numerous correspondences, read every article and viewed every tape of Iowa whitetails that I could find. Fully aware and engrained in my mind that due to the large body size misjudging is quite possible. As soon as I saw my first deer, which were does and where beside the highway on the way there, I knew I was ill prepared. These deer are giants compared to the body size I was accustoemd. Our deer in western KY aren't small. Took me four days to distinguish between a doe and a yearling. Now the bucks were an amazing experience and far..far...far greater than I had imagined!!!
Best of luck and hope you have as wonderful of an experience as I had.
I drew zone 10 with one point, I don't think the economy plays as big a role as the price tag to hunt them does! Kansas is hot and alot of guys I know quite hunting Iowa and now hunt Kansas! Cheaper and just as good if not better hunting! The place I am hunting is 35 minutes from my house otherwise I would be headed to Kansas myself!
Should add though I am very excited to hunt Iowa! Will be my first time!
