Question for you MFX Shooters, I am shooting a 43lb longbow, cut 1/8" before Center.
I want to experiment with the MFX600 and was thinking of 29.25"s.
Not sure whether to get 50 grain inert. Will be hunting with 175 grain head/insert combo.
I draw 28"s...
Thank you
I would make up 1 arrow with the insert glued in and while still full length begin bareshafting and if needed cut it down 1/4" at a time untill it showed just a bit spine spine weak as I'm sure you know will be nock end slightly right when you look at the arrow in the target. Now fletching the arrow will bring the spine where you want it and if you are a little obsessive like I am a lot, you can really tweek your set-up by paper-tuning.
Use hot melt glue. Those shafts come with break-offs (50 75 gr.)Bare shaft tune and watch flight. To the left means stiff to the right weak. Don't worry about the angle of the arrow in the target, just if they hit with a feathered shaft. I would guess a 150 gr point would be close.
I'll give you a tip...
You can start long, and epoxy the tip in, and take the length down as you bareshaft by cutting it off the back end of the arrow.
I would try the 75 grain insert first.

That's exactly how I do it.
