Drew Hominy, 11-13 Nov.
Congrats! I blanked for the third year in a row. But I will have three names in the hat next year!.. good luck
Thanks!
Good time to be there, good luck. 2 years in a row I've missed out.
Unbelievably this is 2 in a row for me! Each year is getting better. I almost got to draw my bow last year. :)
I drew Hominy in Oct! Sorry I will already have the biggest buck in that area harvested before you get there :D LOL I am glad to get to go I have blanked out on the draw for years I wondered if it would ever really happen.
Congratulations! My party blanked out again this year.
We'll be rootin for you!
Last time I hunted there we had one the most wanted bucks trail a doe in the ditch beside us as we went in to scout and hang stands Cody probably will kill the biggest one in Hominy and a couple hogs too!
How did you learn of the results?
Results are posted on their website wildlifedepartment.com We drew Deer Creek
Oct. 14-16. Congrats Jim, and good luck! It's been a 10 yr. dry spell for me.
Thanks for the info. No luck on the draw for me this year. Congrats and good luck to Jim and the other lucky applicants.
Hominy Nov 04-06 2 years in a row for me as well Going right back where I was last year right by some Persimmon trees Had several bucks move through that spot.
My 1st draw about 4 years ago was in Hominy, didnt see any bucks and only 5 does the whole weekend.
Really have no clue where I'm going to go.
Congrats Jim, You should do well. Enjoy the hunt and shoot straight.
Jim congrats - we drew Hominy the last weekend of Oct. I've been there a few times. Give me a shout and I'll point you in some areas where we have taken a few in the past.
Tommy
I'm going to put in for this next year...
Jim, I'm in the weekend after Tommy, and the weekend before you. We'll have to get together and compare notes! I'll definitely give you a report after my hunt! :wavey:
I'm pumped!
Clint
Ok sounds good! Too bad we didnt get the same weekend. I have some river cane arrows that fly amazingly well. I'm leaning toward my selfbow.
I will definitely be hunting with my selfbow and stone tipped river cane! Can't wait!
I have some 200 grain Ace heads that I may use. I have several rivercane arrows with 160 grain grizzlies too. Hard to choose. Two, two fletched arrows, one with trade point and one with flint.....hmmmm.
I killed a doe last year in deer creek so I will be there the 14th-16th I guess. My friends missed last year so I am on my own this time. I think I have a good area if I can get it again. I would like to find two hunters to ride in my truck and hunt this area if anyone is interested lets talk. It is hard to be a truck driver alone and I realy want to hunt this area again.
Does anyone have any tips on what type of tree stand(fixed/climber) to bring to Hominy? I haven't hunted there before and wonder which will work best overall for the trees there?
Bring both if you can. Carry the hang on the scouting day and get it up and then find a good tree for your climber and haul it in when you plan on hunting that tree. Worked for us in deer creek. I think Hominy has more bottomland type habitat that would suit a climber, but I can use a chain on in almost any tree so I would choose it if I had to pick.
This will be my first time in hominy too. I'm there Nov.4-6. I've hunted deer creek and boggy the last two years and I couldnt believe I got drawn out for a third year. Didnt have much luck in deer creek but anybody going to boggy I can put you on a pretty good spot.
I too will be there Nov 4-6 Boggy, I have hunted Boggy and Hominy in the past. Any pointers on Boggy would be great.
Thinking for me that its time to put the modern camo away and start sporting something a little more buckskinnish (new word there)lol, maybe some leggins and wool or somthing of the sort.
Drew boggy! Hunted boggy two years ago, got my best buck ever. Can't wait.
Thats October 14-16th Anyone hunting that weekend? I have a good spot and would like to hook up with a couple of guys to try and hunt it again this year.
I saw a few small bucks in Boggy along a fire brake. They crossed in the same spot daily. I can point it out if I had a pic.
No luck this year....but I've been the last three years running.
My buddies and I got drawn for Deer Creek Oct 28-30. We have never been up there so any advice would be helpful. Is this all trail hunting and can you bait? I am looking forward to this hunt. I may even have to go to the 3D shoot now so I can make it to the velvet tour to see some of the deer.

Me and buddy got drawn at hominy Oct 28- 30. It will be my 2nd trip to Hominy. I hope I can get same spot as before, Anybody else get that weekend we can all team up.
Carl
I'm 11-13th in Hominy. I'm also in B.A.
Our group drew Deer Creek the last weekend in October. This will be our first time to hunt there. I've been to the Trad shoot there in August a few times and have taken the "Velvet Tour" so I know what possibilities exist.
I didn't get in the draw this year. (I drew a Wyo elk tag and didn't want any potential conflicts.)
For those interested, I've got a pdf file of the hunt area map.
Send me your email if you want it.

Hoping for some reports from some of the early weekend hunters before too long.
