gonna try some carbons on a center shot 3pc takedown ,banshee longbow
64#@28 i draw 28" looking at where to begin on some carbons ..9.5-11 gpp and shooting a 200 grain head. is where i want to stay.
any help would be great
Gold Tip 55/75 Blems from Big Jim. They are 9.3 grains an inch.
Gt 7595 @30" with 100 gr insert and 150 gr broadhead or so up front will get you just above 9 gpp ?
I have a 62#@28 that I shoot Gold Tip 75/95 with 175 grain point up front. I do draw 30" but I keep my arrows about 31 1/2" long. They shoot very well. They work out to be 600 grains total.
I would say to use the GT 7595s and cut to 30 or so then just start adding weight up front till it bare shafts...but I also like a real front heavy arra.
thats what i thought about doing ,if i have to shoot 300 grains up front ,thats ok,,just kinda need an idea of what shaft spine..thanks guys...going on an elk hunt next year ,and want to go ahead and start shooting now and for deer season also.
I don't think you will need 300 up front though nothing wrong with that.Maybe 200 or so,depending on shaft length.I looked at Stu's calculator and if I punched everything in correctly,he says 29 3/8" shaft (7595) and 200 gr head,3,5" feathers.Wood grain shafts would bring your weight closer to where you want it.
Don't cut the 7595's until after you try them. They will be too stiff and all the weight available won't break them down.

Either the 55/75 or the Heritage 250 cut to 29.5"s and 225 up front and I bet dollars to donuts they fly perfect. .400 spine would be perfect so a beman hunter .400 would get ya there as well. Shawn
AD Trads come in at 11 gpi, they spine out at 55/75.
Keep them 30" with 225 grains up front and you should be fine.
I shot Beman MFX 300's out of my 66# Groves with 220 grain Phantoms with no problems....they even bare shafted perfectly off the shelf.
Was playing around with stus calculator for my 58 pounder so I plugged ur #`s in.I used a 14 strand fast flight string for a start.A 55/75 cut to 29 inches with 200 up front is a little light spined and 7.9 gpp.A 75/95 full length with 200 is real close at 9.2 gpp and a 75/95 cut to 30 with 250 up front is perfect 618 grains and 9.7gpp
