Took these on the way to work yesterday. Nice buck with several more weeks of growing left! I am blessed to see animals like this almost every day. Now if the state would just send me a deer tag!!!!

Nice bucks for sure. No muley tag here either, man what a kick in the gut!
I know that the draw system is helping our deer come back, but it is painful not to be able to chase these boys in the fall!

Beautiful. I can totally put my self in the edge of that meadow scouting out for fall. Always love your photographs.
Thanks Jason
Those are some nice mulies!
Thanks for sharin' the great pics!
Shoot straight, Shinken

Those Muley's can take your breath away!
Jason, beautiful pictures, what make and type of camera did you use, those pics are awesome!,thanks steve.
Comin along nicely!
Thanks for the great pics! Mule deer are my favorite to hunt, and I can't wait for season.
You have no OTC areas in Colorado?
Those are some great looking Mule Deer that first picture is very impressive.!
Tracy,
That is correct no OTC Mule Deer or Whitetail tags in CO.
Wow, I knew there was no non-res OTC tags, but no resident either? I feel fortunate living here, but there are many areas here that need to be on a draw basis because of dwindling deer numbers.
Elksong, those are great pics! I love hunting muleys as well. I had a little luck and drew a decent tag this year. My hunt starts on Sept. 1 so your photos are trying my patience!.....Shawn
Thank for the compliments on the pic's, all. Steve, the camera is a Canon Powershot SX30 IS, good little camera, just a point and shoot type, nothing fancy.
Shawn Good luck with that tag! I still have a chance at a tag, not in the unit where any of these deer are, but I have one more chance in the left over draw lottery.
These two were taken at 100 plus yards so the quality isn't great....

Jason,I can feel your sufference, but I think DOW is making a good job.We need to restore the mule deer herds.
Just got back from the 3-D range, only to see these pics of some nice bucks. Schlaggerman and I drew tags for Wyoming, so the mulie shots are just what I like to see. I always enjoy the photos that you share with us.Thank you.
Hoping to get out again in the a.m. and see what's moving. Would really like find some bulls....
Well I didn't get out yesterday, but I found a bull in the hay this a.m.. Just a little guy, but good to see some Elk.

I know he isn't growing any antlers, but he is BIG! What a stud! I'm sure I won't see him when season opens...... :banghead:

I drew for statewide mule deer and have my eye on a 4 point from last year that gave me the slip. Utahs got some awesome mule deer hunting.
Here's a nice 15 yard shot!

Man those are beautiful photos. They make me want to string my bow up and practice even harder for our upcoming deer season. Perhaps one day I will be lucky enough to get out somewhere near Colorado and go hunt elk.
Great Photos! Good looking country too!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks again. I saw this stud up close and personal!

Yeah I watched some hunting show, "bowhunter tv" I think, and they were weighing a bear that went just under 400lbs. He was nowhere near as big as the two I have posted! Here they are again - BRUTES!

WOW!!! Great photos!! I first started out in trad by chasing mulies in sage country and have wanted to go back west since. I have bears here but man those are brutes!!
If those guys were waiting for you at the shop this morning, I want to visit your office! Great pics.
Man, it has got to be tough seeing all those dandy bucks and not have a tag! I couldn't imagine not having a deer tag every year. good luck on those bears, they look like toads for sure!
Thanks for sharing the great pics. Sept 1 can't get here soon enough!
Good luck on the bear hunt, those are dandys!
It is nice to come to work and see them. They are a little smaller this year as the BIG buck were killed the last couple of years.
I still have a chance to get a tag, I sent in for the "left over draw", in a unit that has some good deer in it also. I am getting anxious to see if I drew or not!
Here are a couple of bucks that I saw in that unit the other day....

Man those are such great pics. I went out for a little drive by scouting on some cut wheat around where I hunt tonight. Saw a bachelor group of 9 bucks total. I don't have the camera equipment or I would be adding to this awesome collection.
Those are some nice bucks. I right there with you no deer tag in my pocket this year.
I drew a left over tag! It isn't my favorite unit, but there are some good bucks there. You just have to work a little harder to get at them!
Glad you ended up getting to hunt.
Thanks Tracy! I am much happier today!LOL!

That buck on the right looks like a nice buck. Big heavy looking body on him.
Yeah. Ive seen him a few nights in a row now. Hoping he is still hanging around first of October! Like to get him down and do some closer examinations!!
This buck is really puttin' on some size! I wish he was in my unit......At least I get to photograph him.

Jason,
What kind of camera equipment are you using? Your photos are awesome!
Can I trade You My Kansas tag for Your Colorado tag? LOL.
Some great looking Mulies Elksong. You've got Me trying to plan a hunt to western Ks. for a Mulie buck. Glad to hear You drew a tag. Good Luck!!
David -My camera is a Canon powershot sx30 is. It is a great point and shoot style camera. Very good for the average joe novice like me.
Bretto- I don't think the DOW's will go for that trade. LOL!
Man I am getting so ready for hunting season. I get three+ weeks off 20+ days of pure unadulterated HUNTING!

Jason, thanks for sharing the pictures. Obviously we do not have Mule Deer here in upstate NY but it does fire the imagination as I contemplate the upcoming Whitetail season. Good luck with the draw and have a fantastic season!
