I'm new to cedar arrows and glue on heads. I'm also a fan of easy to sharpen heads.
If looking for a good, 125gr glue on 2 blade, that's not only high quality, but easy to get hair shaving sharp, can someone give me a head name or two to try?
I also want double bevel, not single bevel.
Anything Magnus. Their excellent grind and quality steel mean they are easy to sharpen like a razor to begin with and resharpen easilly because of the great steel and edge holding ability.
I was going to say the same thing as Charlie. Magnus vented 125 grain for me. I use the aluminum screw-in adapters so I can use them with my Beman MFX arrows.
just pick up some magnus at Black Dog Outfitters...Tom has them and they are a few miles form you. Easy to sharpen. Hey Bob, if you need any help with files or anything just give me a shout.
matt
Magnus are easy, but I prefer my Ace heads.
2nd the ace never tried the magnus heads
The true 25 deg angle makes the magnus a cinch to sharpen

Yep, I've tried quite a few and Magnus has a great grind from the factory and are by far the easiest to sharpen.
Oh, I'm gonna get them from Black Dog Outfitters. I just want some opinions of what's easiest to sharpen.
I'm gonna have Tom glue 'em on too! LOL
Currently using Ace 160's razor sharp. Before used Bear 125gr. Both easy to sharpen to hair popping. Zwickey a very close 3rd.
Magnus for me too mate best glue on 125gr around and I think even my retarded husky could sharpen them very user friendly. And will last many years if looked after well
I use both the magnus and the ace std, with the ace, I take them out of the pack, pull each edge thru a carbide v type sharpener 6 times, and go kill kritters! Leaves a huge hole going in and coming out! Cant go wrong with either one. Sam.
Magnus and an Accusharp. It don't get any easier than that.
I think Magnus sharpen with lansky.
I use magnus and ace. I keep going back and forth with either 25 or 22 degree, never can decide. At least above, I saw someone else say 25 degree.
Magnus and STOS for easiest sharpening out of the pack.
The last STOS 160's I bought would shave hair right out of the package.
Gluing them on just takes a little practice. I only use straight arrows with a precise grind and have no problems. I hand straighten all of them and run them through a woodchuck
I agree that magnus are pretty easy. However, I think that the eclipse heads are easiest for me to sharpen.
I find the Zwickey more easy than the Magnus. Both excellent heads.
I ain't had a problem sharpening any glue on BH.. Some don't seem to stay sharp though.. I've had them shaving one day and they seem to dull in the case..
My "go to" Bh is the Ace Std..
My favorite two blade is the STOS, but the Magnus and Zwickeys sharpen up just as good.
Lots of good heads out there, these are the only two blades I have experience with.
