Title: cutting aluminium arrows

is there any other ways of cutting them without a arrow saw. iwas thinking of maybe my miter saw

A small hand held tubing cutter works very well and doesn't cost much.

I agree with JimB, go to an auto parts store and find one of those mini-tube cutters.  They work great.

I've used small and mini tuber cutters to cut aluminum shafts for the last 47 years.

Tubing cutter will work, but go very slow to avoid crimping the end in; then debur/chamfer to finish it off (a large drillbit works well for this if you don't have a special chamfer tool).

Insert an appropriate size steel rod or drill bit in the end of the arrow shaft while you are cutting it with the tubing cutter. This will eliminate any crimping at the end of the shaft. You are using the steel rod as an anvil to cut against. You still might need to clean the end of the shaft a little............DaveP

Nice idea Dave.I will have to try that on my next one.I`ve always used a tubing cutter but never thought to insert a rod first
