Last year, the first time i used a simmons interceptor, i took 6 deer with one single interceptor. The blood trails were unbelieveable. I hunt very thick and brushy areas, i use a 60 lb longbow with 600+ gr. arrows. Has anybody ever used the tree shark and would be willing to compare their results as far as blood trail and penetration to the interceptor.
if it ain't broke don't fix it.
I tried a lot of broadheads and stopped looking years ago when I tried the Interceptors . Can't be beat for most game anywhere . I have a lot of heads hanging that succombed to them .
the only thing i didn't use it on was my moose very good head..the reason most people don't shoot them is they don't take the time to learn to sharpen correctly..my friend thought i hit my deer with an axe..
If I went 6 for 6 last year I know what I'd be doing!
Glad to hear that, I just bought 6 of them.
The blood trails are awesome with the treeshark. I've been using them for years. I think you will be very pleased if you switch. Although it's hard to improve on 6 for 6.
I've shot a bunch of critters with both heads. Great bloodtrails with both, but I tend to get consistently better blood with the Treeshark. Even when shooting the Interceptor with bleeders.
I love this subject! 6 for 6 on the interceptors is hard to beet! I plan on using the treesharks for turkey next spring but will be sticking with the interceptors. The new interceptors seem to be easier to sharpen now that Dave has the company!

Have killed about 20 critters with the TreeSharks , deer , hogs , bear , over the last year and havent lost anything yet.I like them very much they will turn a so so shot into a good one if something dont go just right. Its not the only head I use but I sure pull it out of the quiver first more and more.Anyway great heads,,,,,,Sam,,,,,,
You might check out the new 175 grain Tiger Sharks. They are a cross between the Interceptors and the Tree Sharks. I bought a pack of them and will be hunting with them this fall.
They will paint the ground red,,,,,,Sam,,,,,,,

The Tigersharks are a cross between the Landshark and the interceptor, same width, different length.
I've killed a bunch of deer with the interceptors and landsharks and have no complaints. I just started using the Treesharks last year and laughed out loud when I got them in the mail, you just think an interceptor is big. They all fly like darts too! Simmons is good stuff!
Nice hole Sam!
wouldn't be great if hey made a treeshark that held a bleeder blade, that would be the perfect eastern deer head.

Chris, Landshark160, failed to mention he is color blind, but you don't really need to see it when you are constantly stepping in it.
You are shooting enough poundage to allow them to do their job.
i shoot the 160 grain landsharks and have had good luck with them. whats the minimum poundage you guys think would be for the treesharks?
jim
They do make Treesharks with bleeders.RC
Where can you get'um Mr. Rc? I checked the simmons site and didn't see any 4 blade treesharks.
The screw in version
thanks Mr. Charlie.
Now I'm confused  . I was planning on ordering some of the screw on Treesharks but I thought they were 2blade. Are the bleeders removable?
yea they dont even come with bleeders, I would advise ordering the glue ons and adding an insert. I recall some duralbity problems with the open ended design of the screw ins.
i just loked on simmons web i dont think you can get 4 blade tree sharks
:dunno:
I also want to try a Simmons this fall, just not sure which one?
(http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh80/dewalt1797/Picture128.jpg)This was shot at a hog which I missed and hit some basalt rock . 76# BW SAIII I have since used the glue-on s on my wood arrows and glue an aluminum insert in them for my carbons . The glue-ons have a longer "tang ? " which makes them sturdier .

I really like interceptors I killed a couple last year with'um landshark 160 has killed a lifetime supply of bbq using a treeshark either heads is deadly when properly sharpened.
Greyfox, is that head for shooting around corners!!!
Wow, that must have been a clang when it hit rock.
I have killed several with landsharks 160's, Interseptors, and treesharks. The treesharks leave the best blood trails but they are all good. I didn't mean to leave out the tigersharks.LCH

I went two for two with interceptors last year and that was without Chris Spikes (Landshark160) sharpening tutorial. If you are shooting Simmons heads you owe it to yourself to watch his video.
For those shooting the trees arks how much bow weight and arrow weight are you shooting. I had zero penetration issues with the interceptors but the trees are WIDE
I gotta say if your hitting something hard enought to warp up your screw in Simmons it probably won`t be anything inside a deer.RC.
I`ve owned a lot of screw in TreeSharks and they came with bleeders you could install kinda like a bear razorhead.I`m almost certain the ones three rivers sells are the same.RC
