Have you already decided wich bow you'll use for the coming season or you are like me that I am still playing around?
Still playing.
Got mine figured out...Little Hoot's recurve that Lee just made me early this year...Keefer's :archer2:
still playing around my self won't know for a few more weeks i gots lots of shootin to do
lol. I make it easy on my self. I only have one bow.
I will be shooting my belcher ILF 15" riser with either a set of Belcher recurve limbs or a new set of Border Hex 5s. Both around 53#s at my draw and shooting 500 spine bemans with 190 grains up front and look out 7.5 grains per pound!! Getting close to 220fps and great penetration and that is with the Belchers, hoping to have the Borders by than! Shawn
Yep,
Brackenbury Quest of course,LOL.
My Robertson recurve, same as last year. I think one of the two of us will have to break down before I would change, and I think the Robertson will probably last longer than I will!
The new Blacktail Elite I got in May from Norm, at 56#@28", is going hunting this year! Already have a set of Surewood shafts made up into arrows and have Red Feather Archery's Phoenix heads on them. They are flyin' great! Can't wait.
Cacciatore what are your top contenders for this year so far?
Gonna start with the Mohawk and when I get one with that will start going through the 3 HH longbows and get one with each of them, then the Black Widow PlX with which I have already made meat in the past.
My Wes Wallace will not be here in time for 2011 but will be first up in 2012.
at least thats the plan.
Well,
I leave for Africa in just over a month and I am taking my two Maddog Takedowns. For deer and antelope at home, I'm not sure yet.
Going back to my Widow PTFX.
I know which three or four I'll be using -- mostly ACSs of different lengths and weights..
Morrison Shawnee longbow for me.
Got the bow.....Toelke Whip. Now just need the place. Dang this economy.
Big Jim,Howard Hill,Crow creek Dalton or Toelke,Probably All! LOL
Yep, my mind is made up.
It's going to be a '62 Bear Kodiak that I recently picked up and am going to do a complete refinish on.
Either that or my RER LX.
Or maybe the Damon Howatt Super Diablo.
Although I sure do like shooting my '68 Bear Super Kodiak.
Never mind.
That question is too hard.
!["" "[dntthnk]"]("graemlins/dntthnk.gif")
It makes no difference to me since I shoot both of my Blacktails very well.
Still playing......
Winterhawk1960
Most likely my still to come Hill. If not, my Savannah or LC.
Pheasant and small game will be my new Longwalker. Deer hunting will be my Zipper ZSR 58" 49#@28 with 300 gr Tuffhead on the end, total weight of 640 gr. My Stalker longbow will be my cabin bow and pull back-up duty to the Zipper this year.
Since all I own are Pronghorns, it will be a Pronghorn, most likely a longbow. I do need to dust them recurves off though.
I'm thinking my 60" one piece, 59@28. But, maybe my new one if it gets done. It will be a 58" T/D, mid 50's in weight, foam core Pronghorn.
Tough one to decide. :dunno:
It will be my Blacktail Elite TD. I have a couple other great recurves but nothing shoots as consistently for me as the BT. Of course I shoot it most often so the intrinsic fit and frequent shooting complement each other.
Yep, my one and only bow right now. Steve Abbott longbow. 66", 46# @ 29".

Mine will hopefully be a Flatbow from Kegan, and but i feel confident i will draw blood with others as well.
My Kanati, PSR, and Titan all get some woods time.
Got a Zipper in the mail and a Treadway at Denton and my favorite Morrison will be playing for awhile. :dunno: :dunno:
It will be ole' faithful 58"52#@28" SXT with carbon and foam Evolution limbs.Either that or something I have not yet built.Hard to say at this point.
Bill
Sticking to the RER LXR with longbow limbs, and I'm in the process of making up a couple dozen shafts to commemorate the coming season.
Still playing. I will probably use more than one bow, but I am hoping to get comfortable with one my shorter bows. Hoping that the t/d thunderchild that I will be getting in a week or two works out.
Probably the one I just made... 66" and 73#@28 string follow longbow.

Wesley Special for certain and possibly the Cheetah
Osprey by Chad Holm, River Runner by Chad Holm, backed up by my Zipper with 2 sets of limbs! Ya never know may have to take the Bear 67' Kodiak for a walk also!
I may shoot 3 or 4 different bows in a week, then I might shoot a particular bow for 3 or 4 weeks in a row.
By September 1st. I'll quit playing around and concentrate on my hunting bow....TALL TINES.
Good to go Here! Kajikastik(s) longbow and recurve! Just depends on my mood who goes hunting on any day- but both will see hunting time for sure!!
I've only got one at the moment...so I've got it figured out :)
My BW PA cocobolo and yew, 59lb @31" 62"long
Bear Supreme TD with Rose Oak Limbs!
Probably my Great Plains Swift, or maybe my new Belcher but it's not even tuned yet, I've been wanting to hunt with the Toelke one piece though
My Cari-Bow Slynx
Fox Royal Crown longbow for me
Saluki Ibex 62@28 or Centaur carbon with the same specs.
The Centaur is more stable and probably more durable but the the Saluki is so quick that I have a hard time adjusting to other bows.
If I am in the states, it will be my new Belcher SSR recurve, 58 in. 63#@29 ins.and for backup, my TallTines, 61# at 29in.
 ;)
Man I love those Kwyk Styks
Total package: the 55# K/S GT5575's loaded up with 250 VPA Terminator 3 blade screw-ins for a total wt of 571 gns.... should be "Good to Go" @ 10.38 gpp.
Gene :D
My first elk will fall in CO to the new 2011 Bear Takedown B riser with #1 limbs!!!!
2 blade 145 pound eclispe and Doug fir arrows!
Either my Hill or my other Hill. Favoring the Tembo just now.
Just like that chewing gum in the chicken house...I thought I found it a couple of times.
Actually, (I'm going to get kicked out of a club here) I thought it would be a Silvertip. I bought a Habu off a fine Trad Ganger this week. Sooooo different from any recurve I own or have shot. This one may be IT.
The only bow I will hunt with this year is a LH '64 Kodiak that was gifted to me by our own Felix.
Thanks again Felix
doug77
Big River Longbow... 64" 51@28... Dirty bamboo limbs and Bocote Riser.
I may miss sometimes... but my bow looks good :)
Crow Creek dalton longbow, that first shot always hits where I am looking.

Umm....So....I bought a new bow today. Don't worry, got approval from the wife first :)
Could make for some interesting choices in the coming weeks.
I am putting aside my Bear Kodiak Hunters and been tuning a 45lb - Martin Saber and myself for the last few months. I am working hard to be ready for a trad. shoot that is coming up in August, just north of Wausau.
fear the man who only owns one bow....
NO Brainer:BW PCH-X Olive Ash limbs, Bocote, Olive Ash and yellow/white glass riser, no phenolic or red glass. 58" 44#@28 or 53#@28
It is a pleasure Doug to see father and daugther with the same bow.
Bear A riser with #1 limbs 44#.
I see you Dave!
Picked up a Great Northern Jackknife Critter Gitter Special awhile back(Thanks Mike Burch); just got around to tuning it up. Got a new string from good buddy A.S.; the thing shoots like a house afire. Originally bought it as a back-up to my Bushbow...thinking it might be #1 this fall, though.
Hoping my new Zipper makes it here in time.
Shrew Classic Hunter carbon foam
Two 56" Custom Bighorns, one for backup
Same one I always use! My Timberhawk.
I go by the saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
Black Widow PTFX.
All I know is it will be one of many Bears,,,,,Sam,,,
Hear's the '64 I got from Felix that I will be hunting with. In the first pic's it's the 5th bow down from the top and 2nd from the bottomis Matties '64 Kodiak weighing in at 33#.
Thanks Felix

My 56" 50@28 Thunderchild this season. I used my Buff last season going to give his little bro a shot this year :)
One of these two beauties.
Recurve from a tree and or ground.
Long bow from the ground.
