Title: Immaculate 70s grizzly
Post by: TURKEYFOOTGIRL on June 27, 2011, 11:30:00 PM
I bought this bow at a shop a couple of years ago and was curious of the value and year.  Its a left hand 58" grizzly 50#s.  It looks as if it has only shot about 20 arrows through it.  The rest barely has a mark on it and the string looks new except for some aging.  Serial # KR94098  It even has the factory "accesory" sticker on and barely faded.
  Thanks for the help

Not sure someone will be able to help. I will say from the mid-70s maybe 78! Shawn

Did some research and it is tough I can tell you the K series was started in 1972 and that there was a strike at the Bear plant in 78 and that is when production moved to Gainsville in mid-78 or so. So no doubt your bow is between 1972 and 78 and some say the last digit is the year but some say not! I know not much help but I am tryin!  Price wise is what someone is willing to pay, I have seen anywhere from $150 to $330 for a bow of your vintage. Shawn

Those usually go between 100 and 200 on the auction site.  Your bow would be at the higher end of that range due to the condition.  The zebrawood grizzlies seem to sell the highest though.

I would post this over on the History/Collectors section. Very knowledgable folks on there

Nice Grizz! Just picked up a 1960s model, black glass, white tips, and looks to be rosewood in the handle for my 16yr old. 48lbs, for 120.00, at Cloverdale! I was happy  :bigsmyl:

I would say 73-76. I sold a mint shape left hand identical 50# Grizzly recently with the original shipping box on the auction site. It brought $200.
