I wear my 8x30 binoculars with a "Bino Manager" that has a pouch on my chest and has supender type straps. It works. Just wondering if any of you have better suggestions when on the move such as elk hunting. I'm always open to different ways of doing things.
I wear my Stieners on a short strap. I simply put them in my jacket to protect them and keep them from banging me. I learned this in my many years in the service
The Wensel brothers sell a good alternative on their site... inexpensive, too!

I use a Badlands Bino Bivy. For all my hunting. Used it last year in Colorado hunting Elk and have it on all the time over here hunting Sambar which is very similar to hunting Elk. Best purchase I have made.

I use a thin braided rope long enough so my binos hang on my hip over one shoulder. did that tears ago, never liked them sitting on my chest
I have mine on a strap tucked under my left arm ( im right handed ) its very easy to slide them up for use but they are out of the road. I dont like them on my chest all the time, its uncomfortable for me.
With a short strap, hanging under my right arm (RH shooter) when I need them just rotate them up when done they will allow gravity to rotate back under your arm. Has been a very comfortable way for me to carry bino's for a long time.

I went to that link. Barry is looking good! :D :D :D
I use the bino-buddy elastic shoulder straps. Slip my binos on under the outer layer I'm wearing, then they ride protected and mostly out of the elements inside my shirt or jacket.
Depends on the situation, mostly I have a short braided Paracord strap on the binos and a brass clip on my belt when stalking. If I'm stand hunting I carry them in my pack and hang the same strap on a hook.. Out west or spot & stalk pronghorn hunting I sometimes use one of the elastic chest type straps..

That's one of the best looking I've seen :bigsmyl:
;)
I have a loop on the back of the case and keep them on the waist belt of my daypack. I find it uncomfortable if I have them hanging around my neck all day.
The rig that I wear I purchased from ranger joes. I don't remember what it is called exactly, but it is basiclly just stretchy rubber braided together with clips on the ends to hook to the sides of my binos. I think it was called a "ranger clothes line" or something along them lines. But the binos esectially hang on my hip like a side quiver would and are out of my way until I need them. I wish I could braid the 550 cord like some do to make a similar sling that is not stretchy. But until I figure that out I will stick with what I got. Good luck in your search Ringneck. Mike

Wow! can you really get her to carry your Binos for you on your hunt for just $10? Must be a long waiting list! :p
I use a binocular harness, but find when still hunting through thick stuff or dry dusty places the eye pieces fill with crud or dust respectively unless I keep them covered. Although dust seems to get everywhere no matter what the precaucion. Just a matter of how much.
I have a fairly small pair of binoculars (6x30 Leupold) for use here in the east. I use a wide neoprene camera strap. With the lightweight binos that is pretty comfortable.
Yeah... the chick in the ad carries my binoculars for me. When I need to look at something I just snap by fingers and she hands me my binocs. She follows me wherever I go. One time she inadvertently stepped on a twig while following me and I was forced to slap her around a little, but she's since learned well. Ha. Seriously, I like to keep things simple and have been using the single strap for many years. I keep the bino strap short and attach/hook the monostrap to my belt. It takes the weight completely off your neck and places it on your belt so I hardly know I have binocs on. I've never hit the bowstring while shooting and they can be removed/put back on in literally two seconds flat. When bending/flexing to shoot they still stay flat against my chest. If I need to get on all fours to crawl, or in the rain, I just temporarily tuck them into my shirt or jacket. Slick deal. I'll tell you what... if anyone wants to try one... the next three TG'ers who reply to this post wanting one... I'll send a freebie. Others can order from our website www.brothersofthebow.com (http://www.brothersofthebow.com) or I'll have some at Denton Hill. Thanks. BW
I'd like one!! Randy...
sent PM with address Thank you! Randy...
thats pretty cool barry,
If I'm not too late I'd like to try one Barry. Thanks! :) .
Wow, I'd love to have one as well. That's a pretty slick deal.
Pete

I use exactly the same setup. Not sure that I do it to keep my binos "out of the road", but they are handy and out of the way when I shoot.

Nice offer Barry, and I see you have some takers. I saw that you posted here, and promised a friend of yours I'd say hi for him, since he is not internet savvy. So a big Indiana Hello from Mr. John Brooks.
Look out, Barry just unleashed the most popular 4 letter word on Tradgang - F R E E !!
FYI: The "Monostrap Girl" works for me, although I loan her out occasionally to Uncle Barry for his promotions, HA. Her name is Mandy. She's a farm raised TN mountain girl who has been around hunting most of her life. She's also a fitness expert and is tough as nails!
I use a bino buddy, but I don't like it. On long hunts I usually wear military load bearing gear (which doubles as a drag harness) or if I'm closer to camp or a road, a fleece fanny pack. I've been looking for a suitable hip holster all spring that'll fit both the web belt and the fanny pack belt and haven't found one.
There is a military surplus store down on first in Seattle I mean to hit the next time I'm in civilization.
Okay the freebies are all spoken for. Randy Stamps, Shawn Swafford and Peter McMiller. Arrow 30 (Bryant Hodges) said it was cool but didn't say for sure he wanted one. But if you all PM me your postal mailing addresses I'll mail Bryant one too. I already have Randy'saddress. They'll all go out Monday AM. My pleasure. BW aka Uncle Barry p.s. I'll enclose your own personal picture of Mandy too but you'll need to get her phone number from Gary.8^)
Very nice of you, Barry! I'm betting you have made three people really happy- and a number more sorry they weren't online at the right moment. For them, I'd say, this was $10 well spent! You oughta order one to try...
Mandy looks like a nice mother of two who would NEVER step on a twig at the wrong moment...
Many thanks, Barry. My binocular carry problem is now solved  .
Shawn
pm sent Barry,
dont think il be carrying my binocs under my right arm anymore, thanks!
And Shawn... they'll no longer call you "Ringneck" BW
:D

I took off the origional strap on my binos and added a long piece of parachute cord and wear them just like Jim says, but without the tears. :smileystooges: Very handy to adjust them into multiple positions.
Thanks Barry, PM sent.
I use a bino system similar to the crooked horn bino system but it has a cover that fully encloses them, and its made by Browning.
That's was very nice of you Barry
I have tried a few different bino carry straps. the best one for me, is paracord, on the binos, I am right handed. I wear them under my right arm, they hang across my chest. I find that I can get them into use quick, quiet and easy, they fall back easy, out of the way of bow, arms keeps rain and debris from getting in them, and have no problem stalking or crawling with them.
Most of the time I carry a pair of compacts, right now they are Zeiss 10X25's.I shorten the strap so they hang in the center of my chest.I then attach a second "strap" of 3/8" elastic and that goes around my chest and back and keeps them against my chest so they don't flop. From there,it is just a short movement to bring them into play and then they go right back, tucked against the chest.
Neck strap, but I hook a 16" bungee (1/8" type) behind my back with a plastic hook on each end that loops onto the "D" rings on the neck strap.
Keeps them tight against my chest and steadies them for one-hand use.
I use a Crooked Horn strap
I myself use the bino buddy type, holds them tight to my chest and I can shoot with them on and they are never in the way. Barrys one is cool but I like mine tight to my chest. Shawn
Paracord strap, hanging over one shoulder and on my right hip. I wear shirts or fanny packs that have a pocket there so I put it inside the pocket when not in use. I like that a LOT better than in front of me.
ChuckC
I carry mine in the truck... on the dashboard.
Picked up a Shockey No Guff bino holder for cheap. I like how it clips off easy b/c a lot of times I take em off while hunting. Prolly don't make em anymore.
I have the case that goes with my Bison Gear pack and it's great when I have the pack on. But when not wearing it they are loose. I think I'll talk to Barry at Etar. I bet we can figure a way to marry the two ideas and have a great carrier with or without the pack.
By the way that girl is somebodys daughter you bunch of perverts. LOL
Mike
I carry a very small pair and normally keep them in my pocket. I used to use the bino carrier that went over your shoulders and rested the binos on your chest. But to me it was always in the way and if I was going to use them, what ever I was going to look at was usually far enough away that I could slip them out of my pocket, take a look and put them back.
Harness system that keeps them tight on my chest. But the straps are elastic so they pull right up easily to use them. Let them go and they go back snuggly against my chest.
Only way to go if you ask me.
paracord around my neck and shoulder where it hangs under my string hand arm and is easily slid up for viewing with one hand only or slid back for crawling. I can even wear my safari tuff quiver and it wont get in the way and I can take either off at any time. Don't work so well with a back quiver as the straps cross so if yo want the bottom one off you must take both off. Never like the harness type that keeps them to the chest 'cause you need to use both hands to view or the binos width will get out of adjustment and be useless.
Barry, your Monostrap is super! Got it in the mail today and it does what you say. Thanks again
Received my Monostrap in the mail today! Thanks again Barry!! Really like the simple one strap design.
