Great job Osage!I also dig those arrows.
Thanks guy's!
Thought I'd go ahead and edit the post above to include the plan drawings. This quiver was built as I went. The plans were all from my head and the drawing and slideshow is meant to help and inspire anyone needing to make one. When I seached for plans, I only found 23 threads here on TRADGANG that included those words "PLAINS QUIVER". Not one thread was a complete build but they were very informative. Several long term members had pitched in on those threads to provide answers to questions other's had posed. Patb, Killy, Jeff from (NZ), Jeremy & etc. provided wonderful pics and explanations!
I just wanted to add to TG, a thread that covers the subject a bit more,,, so as when others do a seach for such, they have a chance to be even better informed than before.
IMPORTANT NOTE: There are many variations one could impose on this PLAINS QUIVER design (i.e. flat, oval, round, etc.) but, I hope these plans give you something to think about when building your handmade PLAINS QUIVER.
:saywhat: I'll place my mark on this and pass it along to Tony Chinn. He provided the leather and some trade goods for my labor. THANKS TONY! Hope you like it. It should go well with and osage selfbow
Nice JW! There is a build along of a Lakota quiver, by adeeden/Dennis, in the build alongs forum, also. Check it out. Real nice, too.
Beautiful quiver! I like that plains quiver better than any I've seen in the last year! :clapper:
Thanks for sharing the plans; you did a great job thank you for sharing.
very nice! i like that,
Sooo beautiful... really love the whole look. A pleasure to look at and even better if your wearing it.
 :notworthy: very nice.....
Joe, pretty awesome job and I really liked the sketch and pics. This needs to be added to the how to section.
I really appreciate the time and effort you put into this.

Nice work, Joe. The build along will be helpful for someone wanting to build a Plains type quiver.
If I may suggest...if you dye the quiver before you lace it together it is easier to control the color. You did a fine job with the coloration as you did it but give my way a try and see if it isn't easier.
Thanks Pat but, it is not dye, it is the natural tones of the leather brought out by the Neets foot oil I applied. Applying this after completion rather than before allows the leather to remain stiff and for me easier to work during construction. Then, soften it up with the oil when done. Baseball glove conditioner works really well too!

Nice job. Very cool!
I see this never made it to the how to or build along sections, I was wondering if anyone ever used this to make a quiver and did it work out for you?
Great work! Thanks for the build along
What weight leather did you use?
George

Nice...Thanks for sharing
I'm still debating on a back, side or bow mounted quiver (3 arrow max) I can use for hunting. :dunno:
It was a heavy vegetable tanned cow hide. Not sure on the weight.
Rustic, I switch around from year to year.
Dang Joe you continue to amaze me , you are some kinda talented :notworthy:
Great Job as always Joe! :archer:

I am about to give it a try. I am going to make mine different but this post has helped me out. I have been looking at several different styles and am going to take some ideas from each of them to come up with my own. I will let you know how it goes. I may even have some questions for you. Thanks for the post.
Let us all know, post some pics and or ask away.
Joe your an artist! Wow between your self bows and the quiver, well  :notworthy: :clapper:

Here it is. I just finished it tonight. It is made from a deer hide that I bought. Being my first one I was pretty happy with it. When I get a chance I will post photos of how I made it if anyone is interested.
