I am in need of some serious help. I have just bought 3 bows in two days. It is almost midnight and I am trying to buy a fourth.
Does anyone know how I can stop before I run out of money or credit? :knothead:
Nope! You're a goner! :biglaugh:
Sure! Let me send you my addy to send all these bows to so that you will not be buried alive!!
Build a bigger "bow rack". There isn't any hope now............its much to late.
Winterhawk1960
I can cure it easily if my wife's currently available sister is interested.
:knothead:
On second thought - I wouldn't do that to a fellow bowhunter. RUN!
No.But on the bright side running out of credit or money an't so bad when u have nice bows to show for it. :D

I try my hardest and just take it one day at a time....lol
If I get through the day without adding another I try to make sure that I give myself a whole lot of personal affirmation then if I manage to put a string of those days together to make it am week, I am ecstatic!
I usually run into a problem if I can string together a months worth of success because as a way of celebrating my "goodness" usually turns into treating myself to a new or at least a different bow...lol
I don't see much hope for those with less "self control" than that...lol
One thing you can do is to consider joining this group, it'll make it more fun!

If you find a cure, don't tell my wife!
Yes, Use the $$ to go hunting, you'll never regret it!
Terminal condition. Prognosis: thin wallet, happy heart.
Hooked, landed and filleted. No cure for this terrible disease. It just gets worse with age. Just ask my wife.
Simple answer. Make more money.
Yes, there's a cure but I wouldn't recommend it!
Lately, I've been taking Curt's advice.
start making your own self bows then take the rest and take them with you on a hunt with the money you saved they'll be the best hunts ever

Ditto!
Do like I did, sold-traded all my recurves off in the the last 2 years.
Looked at the bow rack and thought I'm with out a recurve!!!
Ordered a Wes Wallace yesterday... but this is my last one!!!!!
The only cure is to buy a fourth one and get it from maddog
Sad news, rehab does not work.......♠
You simply need a new hobby. Take up salt water fly fishing on the Gulf Coast. And buy yourself a fishing kayak; sit on top of course, so that you can fish the bars on the ocean side.
Relax you aren't the only one and you are just a novice!
Send your money to me. I'll take care of the disease for you.
:D
Just make sure to save some cash for arrows!!!
Just remember for the cost of one bow you could provide an underprivileged child with 10 yrs worth of feminine hygiene products, so she can go to school. or it will pay the salary of the actor doing the commercial.
It's your money you earned it spend the way you want!Just stop making us jealous.
Thanks for the advise and the offer of a Sister in Law. However the first of the three arrived today. A Browning Wasp 56" 42# that I bought right here from Mr. Jacks Shanks. As soon as I got home I grabed a hand full of arrows and stood in the rain to try her out. The Bow shoots great! Which only makes my problems worse.
Just to make it clear these are not my first trad bows. I have been shooting for a number of years, although I do still consider myself a novice. I have a lot more to learn and I look forward to learning it right here with the Trad Gang.
By the way, Jack was wonderful to deal with. I'm sure most of you already know that.
Still waiting on bows 2 and 3 from Fleabay.
Mike, I have been checking out your web-site, you might be on to something. Great Looking Bows.
You'll get no sympathy from me without pics.
Killdeer
Kildeers right,Gotta have pics.
If you could see the collections of some members here it would blow your mind.Yes some of us have the Cancer REAL bad.My boy you've just got a runny nose!LOL No disrepect intended.Lots of us have been collecting for 40-50 years.
I am hooked on Bear Td limbs. I have 14 sets and still looking for more.
Okay guys I will try to get some pics. However I sold my camera to buy more bows so I will have to borrow one.LOL
John, I live just outside Jasper. Grew up on Smith Lake.
You are a very sick man,I know I've had the disease for years.
I guess if you have the money go for it.
Personally, I have 2 kids and a wife, and I am only 25 years old. All my money goes to supporting us.
I count my blessings for the one longbow that I do have. I traded my .270 for that bow....
No joke.
However, if you can afford 3 or 4 bows in 2 days then go for it.. why not right??
Greg2201- we need to get together and shoot!
Greg, I would not worry about your addiction. We all have problems, :bigsmyl:
Here you go Greg. I had the disease real bad for about 18 months but I'm almost cured. I only have 140 bows now after selling off a bunch of extras.

Shucks, the truly hopeless cases aren't even on this thread - they gave up internet access to support the habit long ago.
Thanks for the pictures Jack. I will try to figure out how to load pics on here and get pics of #2 and #3 when they arrive.
John, Sounds good. I have a lot of hunting buddies but none of them shoot trad. They think i'm crazy. I'm sure you could give me some shooting tips as well.
Sam, I know where your coming from. When my wife and I got married I sold my Mod.70 in .308 to buy a washer and dryer. Man that thing shot good.
Seven days without a new bow makes one weak.
Look on the bright side, at least you're not throwing your money away on booze and broads!
That's what I tell my wife when I can't catch the postman before she does!
An empty bank account is your cure.
