Title: question about Tusker Concorde bh
Post by: Joe Subler on June 21, 2011, 10:27:00 PM
Can anyone tell me if they have used the Tusker Concorde broadheads in the heavier weights and, if so, what was your experience with them.

Thanks,
Joe

I used the 150 concord's last year and liked them alot. The concord was my second bh from Tusker. They make a nice BH and are strong.

I haven't shot anything with mine except a foam deer yet, but they fly good and sharpen up real nice!  Mine are single bevel and they do turn/twist going into the target.  Braveheart Archery has GREAT prices on them also.

My info may not be what you need exactly, however here goes.  I have used the the tusker concord taken down to 145 grains.  they fly just like field points, just as silent.  I have split 1X6 boards with them ( not on purpose) and shot a doe at 35 yards.  I got a complete pass through then split a sappling on hte other side of her.  She jumped, walked sixty yards, laid down and died.  She was so bleed out it was amazing.  We were in a steep valley and I could not drag her out ... so I put her on my back and walked her out.  My point is there was only minor tallow on my back, no blood!  I split two ribs on her and had the "S" looking entry and exit.

The head is still sharp.  It is in perfect shape.  It is strong, quiet, sharp and accurate.  My 145 grains do a good job.  I also shot a 250 russian sow with one and took the top of her heart off.  That head is still sharp as well.

I hope that helps.

Bob.

I'll have to chime in also about the 145's I've killed two hogs with mine 110, and 170. Super sharp and got complete pass through's on both and both BH's were still shaving sharp after the shots that killed the hogs. I shoot the 145's with a 100 grain insert for 245 up front and haven't had any problems getting them sharp after hunting with them.

Joe,
I use the Concorde epoxied on a 100 gr. insert. Last year I killed an avg. sized dry sow (about 140# but aged at 11 1/2 yrs.!) with that combo out of a 54# LB. Complete penetration and shattered/passed thru the off-side leg bone.
                      Best regards, Todd
